While nations raced neck and neck to land on the moon and plant the first lags, little did they realize destiny’s greater purpose to this “one small step for mankind”. The first hint of anything unusual occurring was the photo of earth captured 20,000 miles away as a bright, clear “blue marble” floating amongst the myriad of constellations. The starry realm in which earth was suspended seemed much more distinct and varied in sizes and colors than seen through the atmosphere from earth observatories. The crew and mission control were so absorbed in getting to the moon in front of them that they almost missed this view in back of them. It was so different than expected that some critics claimed the first manned moon mission was taped in Hollywood and digitally enhanced. Why Jesus Tells the Disciples to Cast Their Net on the Right Side
Most of us are familiar with the scene in John chapter 21 where Jesus tells the disciples to cast their net on the right side of the boat to catch a bounty of fish. There’s a great deal of symbolic meaning here that I believe is missed. In today’s post we’ll look at this scene in detail and dissect its deeper, esoteric meanings, and how it relates to the journey of the soul.
Chapter 21 is the last chapter of the Gospel of John. Jesus has already been crucified and resurrected, and he decides [Read more…] about Why Jesus Tells the Disciples to Cast Their Net on the Right Side
Spaceship Earth: Welcome Aboard
Besides being a popular ride at Disneyland, “Spaceship Earth” describes the beautiful little planet we share with every other living thing aboard it. From ants to elephants, from in-laws to out-laws, we are all on the same ride. Thousands of years ago the author of the Book of Job was aware that the earth was suspended in space, for he writes:
“He stretches out the north over empty space and hangs the earth on nothing.” (Job 26:7)
But not until man’s more recent ventures into outer space has he begun to understand how wonderfully fragile our tiny cosmic habitat appears floating mystically against the darkness and vastness of space. Even the best of cameras fail to capture what is seen by the naked eye, a billion living stars of every size and color surrounding this mystical “blue marble”. And just to think, on this marble are seven billion human passengers and a cargo of countless species.
Spaceship Earth has been traveling for four billion years ever since its creation, and it is good for another four billion years down the road [Read more…] about Spaceship Earth: Welcome Aboard
Who or What is Satan?
Many people in our religious culture are afraid to death of a being that the Bible and the Koran call “Satan the Devil.” Throughout the Bible, this being has wreaked havoc in the lives of the saints of God. This evil spirit wants to sift the Apostle Peter as wheat. This spirit takes everything Job has from him, including his sons and daughters, and then inflicts him with unfathomable physical pain and suffering throughout his body, all of which cause him great grief. This being is called a “roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” We are told to “resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” What does all of this mean?
Because of our reliance on the literal interpretation of the scriptures, we see Satan as a literal being looking to destroy the “children of God.” But as I redundantly state in my videos and articles, the Bible is not a book that is to be taken literally, but the whole of the book is incredible allegory (Gal. 4:24). Be Ye Perfect
“Be ye perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect” — Matthew 5.48
This instructional scripture is referring to cleansing of generational and self-inflicted programming known as subconsciousness. The scripture is making the point : Be transformed within consciousness, through exposure to Pure Consciousness. It’s important to understand that we’re (finite mind) not perfecting anything, rather we’re surrendering lower-self ego, to that which is already perfect — Spirit : the Spirit perfects /heals when all mental struggle has ceased — it’s the inner struggle which is the problem, not the so-called problem. If the fish ceased struggling more then likely it would free itself from the hook.
With this and the following scriptures in mind, let us explore subconsciousness, its origins and a method of its elimination. [Read more…] about Be Ye Perfect
Is There Only One Holy Book?
When I was a newly saved Christian attending an evangelistic church, I was taught in Sunday school that there was only one holy book – the Bible. If I had to burn all the books in the church library except one, I would be expected to choose the Bible. I have gone through several spiritual transformations since then, so that expectation seems somewhat limiting to me now. But back then, I had recently gone through a paradigm shift from agnostic to believer. Something had been awakened. [Read more…] about Is There Only One Holy Book?
Esoteric Muslims: The Sufi
Whereas orthodox Islam focuses exclusively on “submission to Allah”, the esoteric sects of Sufi and Druze also focus on “union with Allah”. To the esoteric believers, the Islamic religious system of Quran, hadith, and all the prophets are but stepping stones to a higher spiritual awareness. This is reminiscent of the Christian belief that the law is a tutor that leads us to Christ (Galatians 3:24). In our modern age, spiritual union is starting to become more the rule than the exception. Astrologers say they predicted this from the zodiac as the coming “Age of Aquarius”. Others associate with the “Shift” in human consciousness which started accelerating at the end of the countdown of the Mayan calendar in 2012. [Read more…] about Esoteric Muslims: The Sufi
What You Greatly Fear Will Come Upon You
I had an interesting conversation with a Christian not too long ago—someone who I admire and respect—about the verse in Job where he states that what he feared most came upon him.
Job 3:25 states:
“For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.”
Notice how job mentions what happened to him twice, emphasizing its importance. This will have a lot more meaning later when we break down what is going on with Job. [Read more…] about What You Greatly Fear Will Come Upon You
Further Cracking the Symbolic Meaning of the Genesis Creation Account
I want to show you something pretty neat if you compare the Genesis creation account to one of my favorite creation myths from ancient Egypt. After a comparison I think you’ll agree that the Genesis account was definitely influenced by it. The similarities are astounding. What I hope you’ll notice is that both the Bible and ancient the Egyptians were trying to explain complicated aspects of consciousness, science, and physics through the same myth and allegory. He Restores My Soul
“He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the path of righteousness for his name’s sake. (Psalm 23:3)
One of my favorite lines, this scripture is saying: take to the practice of meditation for purification of the subconscious, thereby come unto Christ (“name’s sake”) consciousness (Love) : (“He”) inner Christ (“restoreth”) heals separation, thereby is “righteousness” [Read more…] about He Restores My Soul
The Root Cause of all Suffering
Why is there so much suffering in our world? It seems that on both the personal and global levels, people are dealing with much more than they are able to bear. Suicides are occurring at alarming and accelerated rates. Hopelessness appears to be the order of the day. In general, people are losing their ability to cope.
Unfortunately, we have not been able to find the answers to this question in the places where we are generally accustomed [Read more…] about The Root Cause of all Suffering
The Esoteric Meaning of the Tetragrammaton
Western religion has a terribly inaccurate and limited view of the body, soul, and spirit. Such a view has led to the church’s failure to properly portray and instruct how we advance in the kingdom of God. Jesus plainly stated God’s kingdom was within us (Luke: 17:21), and Paul teaches us that God dwells within us. We are His temple. Thus both God and His kingdom are found within us, and are both one harmonious relationship.
But what does this mean. It’s easy to quote scripture and say that God and His kingdom are in us, but how are we to really grasp this concept.
Breaking down the esoteric meaning of the Tetragrammaton can help. [Read more…] about The Esoteric Meaning of the Tetragrammaton
The Sun God, Jesus, and Our Hearts
I am currently reading the New York Times Bestseller, The Secret History of the World, by Mark Booth. In the beginning of the book, he does a great job showing how ignorant our modern scholars can be when trying to explain what the ancients really believed spiritually. For example, in one passage he states that scholars like to believe the Egyptians actually worshipped the sun as a sentient being. This is silly. As Booth tells us Robert Temple’s commentary on texts by Aristotle, Strabo, and many other philosophers of the ancient world have clearly shown that they “…saw the sun as a sort of lens through which the spiritual influence of a god rayed from the spiritual into the earthly realms.” [Read more…] about The Sun God, Jesus, and Our Hearts
