Esoteric beliefs found an early foothold in Western civilization through the ancient Greek Gnostics. Since then, other esoteric beliefs have been trickling in from all over world, but one of them that has evaded our understanding until recent times are those of the Druze. Since the Middle Ages they have lived somewhat secretly in closed-off communities to prevent persecution. Today there are at least 1 million Druze on the planet. Some of them in the Middle East, especially in Syria [Read more…] about Esoteric Muslims: The Druze

Gnosis and the Only Begotten Mind: The Psychic Connection
In Tradition of the Gnostic Apostle, gnosis was described as experiencing the Divine, awakening to the Christ within. This article is about connecting with the Divine through the higher mind symbolized by the Only-Begotten Son. Gnostic Christian myth and scripture say we know God through the Son. Through the Son, God’s love moves from imminent potentiality to never-ending actuality. Love is God’s Word pouring out Life and Light on all things. (John 1:1-18) [Read more…] about Gnosis and the Only Begotten Mind: The Psychic Connection
Tradition of the Gnostic Apostle: The Legacy of Christ in You
I have always had a passion for the Bible. My interest in Christian origins introduced me to the gnostic form of Christianity, which I’m convinced was the way it began. I have been taken by it and through it Christ is more alive for me than ever. What is written here will be elementary for some and new for others. The point is to see the beauty.
The word ‘gnostic’ describing a spiritual-mystical tradition and persons holding to that tradition was not in common use until the 17th century. If you had asked a so-called “gnostic” in the 2nd [Read more…] about Tradition of the Gnostic Apostle: The Legacy of Christ in You
What does the Garden of Eden Represent?
Many Christians have wondered where the Garden of Eden is located, but we should be asking a more important question: what does Eden represent? It certainly shouldn’t be confused as a literal garden. To do so strips it of all its esoteric (inner) meaning and knowledge.
Just as Jesus made it clear that the kingdom of God was within you (a conscious experience), and not something that we can see (Luke 17:20), [Read more…] about What does the Garden of Eden Represent?
Paul, New Age Christianity, and Becoming the Christ
Apostle Paul taught New Age Christianity. Of course 2000 years ago it wasn’t called New Age, but many of the concepts are the same, especially in regards to the concept of cosmic consciousness. I know mainstream Christianity would vehemently disagree, but this is only because they have failed to understand the symbols and language of the Bible.
Personally, I think the future of mainstream Christianity is in trouble—what was once a mystery is now being shouted in books, websites, and blogs across the world: Christ is in us! [Read more…] about Paul, New Age Christianity, and Becoming the Christ
The Gnostics and Christ in the Flesh: 2 John 1:7
Today’s short blog post will discuss a Biblical passage that is often used to crush the Gnostic’s teachings on scripture. For those of who are unfamiliar with the Gnostics, they were basically Christians who denied the bodily resurrection of Christ. Instead they believed Christ’s body was of a spiritual nature. In other words, the Gnostics argued that Jesus Christ was not raised from the dead in a literal physical body.
Mainstream Christianity considers this blasphemy. And here’s the scripture that they often use to put the final nail on the coffin of Gnosticism:
“For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ came in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist” (2 John 1:7)
Based on this scripture, the typical argument states that John was aiming this scripture at the Gnostics themselves since they denied Jesus was resurrected in a physical body. It must be rock solid proof, right? Hardly! [Read more…] about The Gnostics and Christ in the Flesh: 2 John 1:7
