Many of you have probably heard about all the catastrophic events that were supposed to happen on the earth sometime in September 2015. John Hagee, declared a prophet by many mainstream Christians, gave some the idea that the conclusion of the fourth and final Blood Moon from 2014-2015 would usher in a major change on the earth, a change so grand it would affect all our lives in a measurable way as it relates to the mainstream Christian idea of God and a divine plan. Other, less notable preachers, stated the Second Coming of Christ would be at hand by September’s end. Of course none of these things have so far materialized. And they won’t—at least not according to mainstream evangelistic Christian view. [Read more…] about Eating the Flesh of Jesus

The Real Meaning of the Tithe
A few years ago I wrote an article entitled, The Spirit of the Tithe: It Was Never About Money. Today we’ll further discuss the real meaning behind the Old Testament Tithe. I would recommend you read the article above first if you still believe that tithing had anything to do with money. In that article I give good reasons as to why it could not. I have learned a few things since that last article years ago, so naturally I couldn’t give all the answers to tithing back then. But the original article still contains some good information and serves the purpose of freeing those who might feel guilty for not giving ten percent of their income to a pastor at a church. This article, however, will get to the real meaning of the tithe, from an esoteric viewpoint, which is the most important one. 🙂 [Read more…] about The Real Meaning of the Tithe
The Four Living Creatures and The Gospels
The passages in Ezekiel describing The Four Living Creatures are mysterious and phantasmagorical. They are open to interpretations of all varieties, exoteric and esoteric. The Books of Daniel and Revelation also contain surreal images, but most of them are not as complex and elusive, and the symbolism is usually more obvious. For instance, Daniel’s vision of the various kingdoms that arise to rule his known world can be related to historical kingdoms. [Read more…] about The Four Living Creatures and The Gospels

The Bible Code Controversy
Many readers of SOS may remember a book called The Bible Code by Michael Drosnin. It was first published in 1997 and remained on the New York Times best seller list for months. I was recently sent a copy of this book by a friend, and we had a brief discussion on its relevance to Biblical interpretation. [Read more…] about The Bible Code Controversy
Constantine, Eusebius, and the Formulation of the New Testament Canon
Recently I had a conversation with a friend about the history of New Testament. Everyone here on SOS knows and understands the symbolic importance of it, but there are many differences of opinion on whether it is literal history or not. It’s always been important to me to allow readers to have open discussions and even disagreements on the blog to expand our understanding. What do The New and Old Testaments Really Mean?
There are many misunderstandings about what the Old and New Testaments of the Bible truly represent, even among esoteric thought. This post will address these important compilations from a greater perspective, and what both mean in the Christian Bible.
Once we place these two compilations in context, you’re going to see that everything centers on the symbolic concept of “blood.” The Old Testament focuses on the shedding of blood with animals and the New Testament centers around the shedding of the “blood of Christ.” However, the meanings may not have anything to do with what you have been previously taught. The Truth Will Set You Free
Why are Christians getting so sick?
During my life I have been around many people whom I would classify hardcore Christians. I began to notice something in common with all of them – namely, that the more intense their Christian convictions, the more they suffered from disease, illness and psychological problems. I didn’t really put the connection together – until now. I don’t profess to know everything or be completely right about everything. This is simply what I’ve found through my research.
The Bible will impart truth but only if interpreted correctly – esoterically, celestially and personally. It is almost all symbolism, metaphor, myth and allegory. I say celestially due to the Hermetic axiom of “As Above, So Below” That’s why the Bible states there will be lights in the heavens and THOSE LIGHTS WILL BE FOR SIGNS, but that is a discussion for another time. Why Jesus Tells the Disciples to Cast Their Net on the Right Side
Most of us are familiar with the scene in John chapter 21 where Jesus tells the disciples to cast their net on the right side of the boat to catch a bounty of fish. There’s a great deal of symbolic meaning here that I believe is missed. In today’s post we’ll look at this scene in detail and dissect its deeper, esoteric meanings, and how it relates to the journey of the soul.
Chapter 21 is the last chapter of the Gospel of John. Jesus has already been crucified and resurrected, and he decides [Read more…] about Why Jesus Tells the Disciples to Cast Their Net on the Right Side
Who or What is Satan?
Many people in our religious culture are afraid to death of a being that the Bible and the Koran call “Satan the Devil.” Throughout the Bible, this being has wreaked havoc in the lives of the saints of God. This evil spirit wants to sift the Apostle Peter as wheat. This spirit takes everything Job has from him, including his sons and daughters, and then inflicts him with unfathomable physical pain and suffering throughout his body, all of which cause him great grief. This being is called a “roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” We are told to “resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” What does all of this mean?
Because of our reliance on the literal interpretation of the scriptures, we see Satan as a literal being looking to destroy the “children of God.” But as I redundantly state in my videos and articles, the Bible is not a book that is to be taken literally, but the whole of the book is incredible allegory (Gal. 4:24). Further Cracking the Symbolic Meaning of the Genesis Creation Account
I want to show you something pretty neat if you compare the Genesis creation account to one of my favorite creation myths from ancient Egypt. After a comparison I think you’ll agree that the Genesis account was definitely influenced by it. The similarities are astounding. What I hope you’ll notice is that both the Bible and ancient the Egyptians were trying to explain complicated aspects of consciousness, science, and physics through the same myth and allegory. Gnosis and the Only Begotten Mind: The Psychic Connection
In Tradition of the Gnostic Apostle, gnosis was described as experiencing the Divine, awakening to the Christ within. This article is about connecting with the Divine through the higher mind symbolized by the Only-Begotten Son. Gnostic Christian myth and scripture say we know God through the Son. Through the Son, God’s love moves from imminent potentiality to never-ending actuality. Love is God’s Word pouring out Life and Light on all things. (John 1:1-18) [Read more…] about Gnosis and the Only Begotten Mind: The Psychic Connection
What is the Symbolic Nature of Paul and His Christ: Part 3
Was Paul’s Christ really the Christ of Orthodoxy? Most likely not.
In parts 1 and 2 of this series we concluded that Paul’s own words from Galatians do not agree with the historical timeline of Acts. We also examined Massey’s reasoning for stating that Paul’s gospel had nothing to do with the literal, historical Christ of orthodoxy, but was rather the gospel of the mythical Christ birthed within through direct experience. We analyzed internal evidence from Galatians that seems to support this theory.
In part 2 of this series I also hinted [Read more…] about What is the Symbolic Nature of Paul and His Christ: Part 3
