Although it is not too clear from the title whether this guide was written by or for The Complete Idiot, I will be honest; my credentials for writing this post are dismal. I am a techie type who discovered my intuitive side only months ago, and right after that I tried to analyze everything I knew about intuition to death before I realized you cannot get it that way. To really succeed at Gematria, someone must have a high Intuitive Intelligence Quotient (IIQ), because once you are done with all the calculating, the real trick will be relying on your intuition to make meaningful interpretations. Understanding the Messianic Prophecies, Part IV
“The scepter shall not depart from Judah… until Shiloh come.” Genesis 49:8-10 This prophetic statement was included in a blessing given by Jacob, just before he died, to his third son Judah. The blessing began “Judah, thou art he whom they brothers shall praise”, and continued the bestowal of the Messianic lineage by divine selection rather than by natural birth rite. Judah had no special moral qualifications for this blessing. He had conspired with eight of his brothers to kill his half-brother, Joseph. He had illicit sexual relations with his daughter-in-law, Tamar. He was not the oldest like Reuben. He was not the favorite like Joseph. And yet the scepter, the symbol of rulership, was given to him. [Read more…] about Understanding the Messianic Prophecies, Part IV
Understanding the Messianic Prophecies, Part III
In this series we will continue to perform a temporary “about face” in our quest to discover wisdom. By reassessing the historical and literal validity of selected parts of the bible, we shall try to answer four questions. (1) Is the Messiah of the Gospels merely of allegorical importance, as one sect of the first century Gnostics proposed? (2) Does history and archeology regarding the Jewish people validate the existence of a flesh and blood Messiah? (3) Did this Messiah atone for the sins of others? (4) Do historical and allegorical messages in the bible oppose or complement each other? I shall explain later why the “about face” is necessary and only temporary. An esoteric interpretation of the crucifixion of Jesus
At the moment we live in the period leading up to Passion Week again, and therefore I would like to give an explanation of some of the names and words that figure prominently in the Passion story, interpreted from the hidden meaning of the Hebrew translation of these words, as they already explain what this story is really about. Understanding the Messianic Prophecies, Part II
The Jewish people have always had a longing for Messiah. In Part I of this series we learned that the Hebrew prophets spoke of two archetype Messiahs – the Suffering Servant, one who would save them from the war against human sin within, and the Triumphant King, one who would save them from the political war without. In much of Jewish literature outside the bible, including the Talmud and the Targums (sermons delivered in the common language of the people) the rabbis speculated about how these two contrasting depictions of the Messiah would manifest. Understanding the Messianic Prophecies, Part I
By the time Jesus is said to have appeared in Jerusalem, the rabbis knew that the scriptures described two archetypes of Messiah – a humiliated Messiah, known as the Suffering Servant, who in the tradition of the prophets would be scorned by his peers while attempting to touch men’s hearts regarding the issues of sin; and an exalted Messiah, known as the Triumphant King, who in the tradition of an idealized King David, would restore Israel to world prominence and also usher in a Golden Age where the lion would sit down with the lamb. Part V Section Three: The Life of Christ, Epiphany to Easter
In the picture to the left, we see the Sol in Aries, Light of the World in the Lamb, the latter standing at the Heart of the Sevenfold Covenant that is “the bow in the heavens” (Post-Flood, God’s Promise to Noah). Within this covenant, Seven Shining Planets emanate from The Golgoltha, or skull, of The One Sun. The Terrestrial Grail catches the Lambs-Blood Offering of Spring atop The Tabernacle. How Are We to Determine Truth: Part 1 – The Dream
Allow me to share in a little holiday fun with an amusing account of a dream. Never mind the poking and teasing in it. No disrespect is meant to the serious posts on signs and numerology. I just want to make sure that is absolutely clear. We just need to laugh at ourselves sometimes. So here it is. [Read more…] about How Are We to Determine Truth: Part 1 – The Dream
More SOS updates 2015
I just wanted to let everyone on SOS know that the comment section is finally working again! I spent some time over the Holidays working out all the bugs of the site. The original culprit was my Thesis theme itself which was incompatible with the new WordPress 4.1 version. Thankfully, Thesis provided a patch that fixed this issue which I somehow missed a while back. Everything should be running smoothly again. I had also used a plugin called Commentluv which caused some coding issues a few years ago. It broke part of the site (which readers didn’t notice), but that has been fixed as well. Suffice to say, the site is bug free and should load faster for everyone. [Read more…] about More SOS updates 2015
Spirit of the Scripture Updates
As some of you may have noticed, SOS has experienced some technical difficulties as of late. I recently updated to the newest WordPress Version (4.0.1). At the same time, I updated five plugins. My site then crashed. Early this week, only the homepage and blog front page were visible. All individual posts and a few other main blog pages displayed an HTTP error. Robert, a regular commentator, alerted me to the problems the next day. I was aware of a few of the problems moments after I updated, but didn’t realize the extent of the damage until I begin digging into my files. [Read more…] about Spirit of the Scripture Updates
Fragmentation and Ascension
We all know what happens to water dropped from a significant height. It quickly starts to break up or fragment and the further it falls the more it fragments. That’s the way I understand what it is that we do when we, as Light/Consciousness/Being, descend/project downward from The Source and I believe the following to be, for the most part, true.
This fragmenting of Consciousness/Light occurs in a downward projection through the Dimensions. This is yet an even greater example of As Above, So Below. Here are the Dimensions mapped out according to the Planes of Existence and the human body:
11th Dimension – Christ Plane. Top of head. [Read more…] about Fragmentation and Ascension
Part V: The Cosmic Christ, Temptation and Celestial Archetypes
Section One: The Tree of Temptation
I would like to apologize for the length of Part IV, I had not realized it was so long. This is why I’ve broken up the final two parts into further divisions, so that it’s easier to absorb and follow along. I would also like to state beforehand that, though much of what follows may possess some explanatory power, this does not mean that it is any more or less valid than the innumerable other paradigms. Many have alleged that anywhere from 7 to 60 equally correct interpretations exist.
The Celestial Garden and the Pillars of Paradise [Read more…] about Part V: The Cosmic Christ, Temptation and Celestial Archetypes
Part IV: Logos: From the Raven to the Dove
Section One: Fibonacci and the Alchemy of Noah
Mem and The Flood
Returning to 7 and 33, aside from connecting the Golden Section to Creation and Redemption, they are also related to 13 through the Hebrew alphabet itself: 7+33=40; 40=Mem, the 13th letter (recall that the 7th Fibonacci number is 13, and the sum of all 7 is 33). It’s symbolic correlate is water, and its esoteric meaning is death – which brings us to the Flood of Noah:
“For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.” – Genesis 7:4 [Read more…] about Part IV: Logos: From the Raven to the Dove
