For theologians, the crucifixion of Jesus has been regarded as a monumental turning point in the history of mankind. Those famous words from Christ, “It is finished,” have represented the completion of God’s unmerited grace poured out for humanity through the death of his Son. This has always been the exoteric view, but what does the crucifixion mean esoterically? Is it possible that the church missed something of great importance because it failed to interpret the deeper meaning of the text? The answer of course is yes, and today we’ll uncover the highest meaning of the crucifixion. [Read more…] about The Crucifixion and the Forsaken Jesus

The Transfiguration of Jesus
This post continues our series on the esoteric Jesus. So far we’ve seen why he had to come out of Egypt and be baptized. Today’s post will study the esoteric meaning of Jesus’ transfiguration.
We’ll start with Gaskell’s definition:
Transfiguration of Jesus: A symbol of an initiation, and signifying the using or raising of the lower nature in the interest of the higher.
While the transfiguration is one of the easiest initiations to decode, perhaps it shows us more than any other the esoteric nature of Jesus and the Gospels. [Read more…] about The Transfiguration of Jesus
Will the Esoteric Jesus Please Stand Up?
Many people have looked for a clear presentation of the esoteric Jesus in the Bible. He’s really not so hard to find. In fact, once the Biblical symbols are properly decoded he practically screams from the text! The reason the esoteric Jesus has remained veiled is because the church has lost the art of decoding these symbols. Over the next few posts we’ll resurrect that art as it relates to Jesus’ major life initiations: coming out of Egypt, his Baptism, transfiguration, crucifixion, resurrection and ascension. From God to Israel: Divinity of Man Revealed in the Pentateuch
There is an important truth about the divinity of man veiled in the first and last words of the first five books of the Bible. Known as the Pentateuch and the Torah, the first five books are the bedrock and foundation of scripture, so it makes sense that a powerful statement about the divinity of man would lie in this cornerstone. Judgment and Karma in the Bible
I was reading a blog post about karma this morning by Katinka Hesselink (linked here). I like Katinka’s simple explanation of this largely misunderstood concept. Check out what she has to say below:
Somehow the law of Karma has people in all sorts of mental knots sometimes, so I thought I’d start out with the basics:
- When you help someone today, they will be helped. You will get the blessings later.
- When you hurt someone today, they will hurt. You will get similar problems later. [Read more…] about Judgment and Karma in the Bible
Meaning of the Tree of Life
The tree of life. It is arguably one of the most popular symbols in the Bible. It’s too bad that so many people read Genesis, discover the tree of life, and think it’s literal. To do so robs the mind of this ancient symbol’s true beauty and essence!
Sometimes called the cosmic or world tree, the tree of life did not [Read more…] about Meaning of the Tree of Life
John is Your Prana, Jesus Your Kundalini
There have been many theories on what John the Baptist meant when he said:
“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I…he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire” (Matt. 3:11).
Of course the “he” that John the Baptist refers to is Jesus. But what’s he really talking about? Obviously he doesn’t mean literal “water” and “fire.” [Read more…] about John is Your Prana, Jesus Your Kundalini
Reincarnation and Evolving Consciousness: From Adam to Christ
The reason of existence is to evolve consciousness. I use the word “reason” instead of “purpose” because I really don’t believe a universal mind “purposed” to evolve itself. Rather, I believe the evolution of consciousness is an inherent quality within the universal mind and consciousness itself.
So if I’m correct and consciousness-evolution is automatic, it also means that each individual is eventually going to evolve in some way whether they try to or not. It’s just part of the experience of existence. [Read more…] about Reincarnation and Evolving Consciousness: From Adam to Christ
Christ Consciousness for the Christian
What exactly is Christ consciousness? Although it may not be so easy to attain, it can and should be seen as something practical. Many websites make it seem so spiritual that it becomes no earthly good, and therefore, Christians wash their hands of it. At the very least they look into it for the sake of curiosity, but once they dig in, it seems too otherworldly to give it a second thought. [Read more…] about Christ Consciousness for the Christian
