In this article, we are going to address an age-old question that our scriptural and spiritual studies have often failed to answer for us, not because the answers are not there, but because until now, we have not been adequately equipped to decode the scriptures so that the answers become plain to us. That question is: Who or what is God and Christ? The answers are going to amaze you, as they did me ,because once again, the answers are incredibly lucid, incredibly clear. As I have previously and redundantly stated in the past, the Bible is a book of symbols. It is a coded book, and in order to understand it, we must develop the ability to decode it.
[It is] the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings [is] to search out a matter. (Prov. 25:2 KJV)
The truths of scripture are like pearls hidden in the earth. Like nuggets of gold, we must search them out. The Bible is, in my opinion, the most incredible book on our planet, and when we come to understand it accurately, waves of truth become available to us. Let’s, then, continue with our process of decoding scripture.
Biblical creation! For millennia it seems that science and religion have been debating over whether the earth is the result of intelligent design, or whether it has evolved over the course of billions of years. I’m not sure how we have gotten where we are, but there is one thing of which I am certain. Biblical creation has nothing to do with the material world, and everything to do with man being created in the image and likeness of God. It is man that is the creation, and Biblical creation is all about our being made a new creature in Christ. The entire labor of God is for this end. This is why God and Christ work. Scripture says: “[t]his is the work of God; that ye believe on him whom he hath sent” (John 6:29). It is only AFTER you have been made in the image and likeness of God that God rests. Thus, as the book of Hebrews states, there remains therefore a rest to the people of God” (Heb. 4:9). We are still awaiting the Sabbath.
But what does it mean to be made in the image and likeness of God? What does God look like? Who, or what, is God? Who, or what, is Christ? Whatever God is, scripture says that “[W]hen he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is” (1John 3:2 KJV).
This is very interesting language. We have been told by religion that we will see God either when the literal resurrection occurs, or in a rapture of human souls from off the earth, where Christ will meet saved souls in the air at his second coming. Yet Job, at the end of his adversities exclaims, “I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear; but now mine eye seeth thee” (Job 42:5 KJV).
To “see” God, in scripture, is to “know” God, and this is the definition of “salvation.” Once we come to know who or what God and Christ are, it will become crystal clear that Biblical creation has nothing to do with our material world, and everything to do with YOU.
Now Job’s “salvation” did not occur after his physical death. No, the Bible defines salvation, or eternal life, as “knowing the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent” (John 17:3). This eternal life is something that begins NOW; “behold, NOW is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Cor. 6:2 KJV).
What is interesting about the lifting of Job’s captivity – the advent of his healing – is that God heals him only AFTER he prays for his friends. Notice:
… [A]nd my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you [after your] folly, in that ye have not spoken of me [the thing which is] right, like my servant Job … And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends. (Job 42:8, 10 KJV)
Now if you know the story of Job’s “friends,” you know that they condemned him of sin, without actually knowing why he was suffering. Their diatribe against him resulted in additional mental anguish for Job, a man who was already in the midst of unfathomable suffering and torment. He needed love from his friends, but received condemnation. He needed kind words from his friends, but received scoldings. He needed understanding from his friends, but received rejection.
This is quite “natural,” and that is the point. The “natural” man does not understand, and cannot receive, the things of God, and this is part of the reason why transformation is so necessary. We are often very quick to criticize, judge and condemn, in most cases without having even a clue as to what is really happening in the lives of those we are criticizing, judging and condemning. We don’t have the slightest idea what we are doing to ourselves when we do this. Indeed, Godly love, or unconditional love, is not natural for man. Man’s animal nature is very much opposed to this idea.
In the end of Job’s story, we note that God was ready to judge Job’s friends because of their words against him. Job had to pray for them to keep them from incurring God’s wrath.
There are subtle and hidden messages in this story. Hidden here is the extreme mercy of God, who not only intended to save Job, but also his three friends. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and in this case, the tongues of Job’s friends were bringing death to him. Their throats were an “open grave” (Rom. 3:13 KJV) and they were burying Job alive with their words. In other words, their words were sowing seeds of destruction. The law of sowing and reaping is a living law that is as immutable as the laws of physics and mathematics. “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap” (Gal. 6:7 KJV).
Important to note here is that the Biblical definition of death is NOT physical death, but spiritual death.
Had there been no intervention on the part of Job for his three friends, they were going to suffer the excruciating torment of hellfire. They were about to reap what they had sown. They had sown death with their tongues, and they were about to reap the same. Now of course, it was not their intent to sow seeds of destruction. Nevertheless, scripture says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge ….” (Hos. 4:6). In essence, Job was commanded to “forgive them, for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34). Of course, this was also Jesus’ loving request to the Father on behalf of those who were crucifying him. Yes, his friends were forgiven because they did not know what they were doing – to Job or to themselves. As I shared with you in my previous videos on Biblical hellfire, hell is a product of our tongues. But another subtle and hidden message in this story is the power of prayer. Again, this is a function of our tongues. Death and life are in the power of the tongue.
Who or What is God and Christ
Now we come to the question, who or what is God and Christ? Because no one has ever seen God, and because of the divergent denominational interpretations of the scriptures, there are many theories as to who and what God is. What is so astounding is that the scriptures tell us who God is, in language so plain and clear a six-year-old can understand it. Unfortunately, spiritual truths are very hard to understand when they are filtered through the erroneous interpretations of natural man.
What I am about to show you is critical information, so please read the following very carefully. You may need to read it more than once.
Because of our reliance on the literal interpretation of the scriptures, we see the Son of God as a physical male figure – flesh and blood. Of course! He is called a son. However, the messages of the scriptures are spiritual in nature, and scripture says that “God [is] a SPIRIT and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24 KJV). God is a spirit! Christ also is a spirit:
Now THE LORD IS THAT SPIRIT: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty” (2 Cor. 3:17).
Christ is the “inner man” of Ephesians 3:16.
Now what is spirit? The offspring of spirit is not flesh and blood. “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and THAT WHICH IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT IS SPIRIT” (John 3:6 KJV). You are flesh, and it was flesh that gave you birth. Spirit is spirit, and spirit gives birth to spirit, even as flesh gives birth to flesh. This is critical to understand. You will see why shortly.
Now let’s dig a little deeper. Let’s first look at 2 Tim 1:7:
For God hath not given us the SPIRIT of fear; but of POWER, and of LOVE, and of a sound mind. (2 Tim 1:7 KJV)
Spirit, then, represents attributes or aspects of being – a methodology, if you will – for how you live your life in the flesh. It is something that is IN YOU, and that assists you in your functionality while on this physical plane. Fear is a spirit. Love is a spirit. Power is a spirit, as we read in the above-referenced verse. Love is a spirit within you that causes you to act in certain ways. Fear also is a spirit within you that causes you to act in certain ways. It is the same with power, which is also defined as a spirit. Now, what scripture is saying in the above-referenced verse is that “God” has NOT given us the spirit of FEAR, but he HAS given us the spirit of POWER, of LOVE, and of soundness of mind.
The King James Version of the Bible often refers to the Spirit of God as the “Holy Ghost.” This is actually a horrendous translation and causes people to form a graven image in their minds of spirit as a being of form, albeit not flesh and blood. This is actually a breaking of the Second Commandment and throws us way off base because it obscures the true meaning of the word. Neither fear, love nor power represents living beings of form. Quite the contrary, they are attributes. Love, for example, is not a ghost. This concept of spirit as a ghost is merely ancient Greek superstition. The Bible translators, unfortunately, did not understand what it was that they were translating, and were very haphazard in the way they translated the Bible.
Again, fear, love and power are spirits, and God and Christ are spirits.
Now then, let’s understand. He who has ears to hear, let him hear. Notice the following scriptures and how they apply to spirit. Once again, both God and Christ are “spirit.”
(8) He that loveth not knoweth not God; for GOD IS LOVE. … (16) And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. GOD IS LOVE; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him (1Jo 4:8, 16 KJV).
Did you get that? The question “who is God” is quite a popular question, and the scriptural answer is as clear as a bell. We just have not learned how to decode the scriptures to bring it to our understanding. God is a spirit, and that spirit is love. God is love! They that worship HIM must worship him in LOVE, that is, in SPIRIT. This is the Biblical definition of God.
Now then, who is Christ?
Christ is the “only begotten son of God,” and is the offspring of Spirit, and thus is spirit. That which is born of the spirit IS spirit. Christ also is a spirit. Let’s look at that again:
Now THE LORD IS THAT SPIRIT: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” (2 Cor. 3:17)
God is a spirit. Therefore, the Son of God is also a spirit, and not a flesh and blood male figure.
And what is that spirit that is Christ?
Let’s go back to 2 Tim. 1:7:
For God hath not given us the SPIRIT of fear; but of POWER, and of LOVE, and of a sound mind. (2 Tim 1:7 KJV)
God, or love, gives us the SPIRIT of power. And power is the definition of Christ. Notice:
But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, CHRIST THE POWER OF GOD, and the wisdom of God (1 Cor 1:24 KJV).
Now then, this is the message of God and of Christ. God is a spirit, and that spirit is LOVE. God, then, is the SPIRIT OF LOVE that resides WITHIN YOU. He who worships God is worshipping LOVE, and he MUST WORSHIP HIM IN the SPIRIT of love and truth. This is what the scripture is saying. God (the spirit of LOVE) gives us his only begotten son (Christ – the SPIRIT OF POWER), which is the spirit/offspring/fruit/son OF LOVE asserted in 2 Tim. 1:7 that “God” has given us. God is love and love is a spirit. Therefore …
POWER (CHRIST) IS THE OFFSPRING (SON) OF LOVE (GOD)!!!
This is the meaning of the phrase “Christ, the son of God.” Once again, God is a spirit, and that spirit is love. Power is the offspring of love, and is what scripture means by “God’s only begotten son.”
I know this may be difficult for some of you to accept. It is not my intention to cause anyone any angst, and I do understand that belief in a literal Jesus who is going to come bursting through the sky in a resurrection of the just is a concept that multiple millions of people have invested their entire lives in. I am bringing this information to you with the understanding that the mind has an amazing ability to reject what it does not want to accept, even if the evidence is indisputable. I have grappled for quite some time with whether or not I should actually expose this information. Indeed, I believe that there are those who actually do understand this message, but have chosen to keep it hidden under the veil of inspirational and motivational stories designed to assist you in your seeking and searching, but without actually letting the cat out of the bag. I’m not sure I am being wise here, but my intent is simply to offer the correct interpretation of scripture to all who are looking for truth. If this information is causing you any difficulty, you are doing yourself a great disservice by continuing to read it.
Now then, God, or love, gives birth to the power, or Christ, that can heal you and set you free from all maladies, both physical and spiritual, both internal and external. Love gives birth to the power and wisdom that make all things possible. The love spoken of here is unconditional love – “agape” in Greek. This is the love that allows the Christ to heal the ear of Malchus, who was a servant of those taking him to his death. This is the love that allows the Christ to beg the forgiveness of God on behalf of those who were crucifying him on the cross. Christ, the “power of God,” is the power of love, and only “Christ” can love in this way. Christ, in essence, endured his cross by expressing the power of love even through the adversity and affliction of the cross, thus expressing love “to the very end.”
The entire law of God hangs on this attribute of love. This Christ, or “power of love” is within each and every one of us. God is love. Love is the fulfilling of the law. Being made in the image and likeness of God, then, is all about being made in the image and likeness of the love and power that is God and Christ.
Now what is love?
(4) Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, (5) Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; (6) Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; (7) Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. (8) Charity never faileth: but whether [there be] prophecies, they shall fail; whether [there be] tongues, they shall cease; whether [there be] knowledge, it shall vanish away. (1Cr 13:4-8 KJV)
The word “charity,” in this verse is a synonym for love.
The Christ, the power that is the offspring of love, needs to be awakened, or resurrected, within us. This is what is meant by the “resurrection of Christ.” We are the grave (the earth, or ground) in which the Christ lay dead for three days and three nights. In other words, power lies dead within us because of our inability to love. But this power is not dead, but merely sleeps and can be awakened. Indeed, it MUST be awakened – resurrected – within you. The Kingdom of God comes with Power, and that power is Christ, who is the power and wisdom of God. Christ rules his kingdom, and the kingdom of God is within you.
Christ is the power and the wisdom of God without which you can do nothing (John 15:5), and through which you can do ALL things (Phil. 4:13).
This Christ is IN YOU, and is your “hope of glory” (Col 1:27).
The God of Love is also within you:
One God and Father of all, who [is] above all, and through all, and IN YOU ALL. (Eph 4:6 KJV)
This gives us a completely different perspective on what the scriptures mean by the “sons of God.” Indeed, the sons of God represent the fruit, or offspring, of the Spirit:
(22) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, (23) Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (Gal 5:22-23 KJV)
As I said at the outset, WE are the Creation. The scriptures are not talking about the material world when it addresses creation. It is talking about us, the people. We can see this in Romans 8:
(19) For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. (20) For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected [the same] in hope, (21) Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. (22) For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. (23) And not only [they], but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, [to wit], the redemption of our body. (Rom 8:19-23 KJV)
Absolutely! When the sons of God, or the fruit of the Spirit, are manifested (awakened, or resurrected) within us, everything becomes possible. I want you to be really inspired by these next couple of verses:
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. (1Cr 2:9 KJV)
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, (Eph 3:20 KJV)
Yes, the love and power of God are able to accomplish what would otherwise be impossible. They are the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. It is all about LOVE.
Loving Others – The Acid Test of Spirituality
Your ability to love is the acid test of spirituality. Scripture requires that you love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. Scripture requires that you love your brother. Scripture requires that you love your neighbour as yourself. Scripture requires that you love your enemies. Scripture requires that you love those who hate you. Scripture requires that you love one another. Scripture says that everyone who loves is born of God. Scripture says that if we love one another, God dwells in us.
In other words, we are to love EVERYONE. That is regardless of race, regardless of gender, regardless of nationality, regardless of sexual orientation, regardless of political affiliation, regardless of education, regardless of age, regardless of the size of their bank accounts, regardless of the color of their hair, regardless of the shape of their noses, regardless of the size of their bellies, etc., etc., etc. God is LOVE!!! He who loves is born of God. This is what the scriptures mean when they say “you must be born again,” that is, born of water and of the spirit. Water here signifies the waters of affliction and adversity, which is what it means to be baptized, and of course as we have just come to understand, the spirit is the spirit of love. This is the love of God and natural man does not understand this love. This is why you must be “transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Rom. 12:2).
Afflictions and adversities are the spiritual weights against which you are able to develop the spiritual muscles of love and power. I hope this is all making sense to you.
Conversely, scripture says that if you say you love God and hate your brother, you are a liar. Scripture says that if you do not love, you do not know God. Scripture says that he who does not love his brother abides in death. Scripture says there is no reward for simply loving those who love you. Scripture says there are only two commandments – that you love God and love your neighbour, and that on these two commands hang all the law and the prophets.
So in conclusion, we have learned that God is a spirit, and that spirit is love. We have learned that Christ is also a spirit, and that spirit is Power and Wisdom; that he is the only begotten son of God, and that which is born of spirit IS spirit. As God represents love, and as Christ represents Power, the meaning of Christ the son of God is Power and Wisdom, the offspring of God, or love. We have also learned that Christ, as the Power and Wisdom of God, is the spirit that makes ALL THINGS possible, for “without me ye can do nothing,” but “I can do all things through Christ that strengths me.” I hope this article has been a blessing to you. Until next time, this is Paul Young saying, flee from the crowd and dwell with the Christ within you. Christ IN YOU, your hope of glory.

Hello Paul,
I just saw your article and read it for the first time. I will have to read it many times more to get everything, but I can only say it is a marvellous article. Of course you know that this theme is very close to my heart and it is so true. Lately I have been trying to relate literally everything to it, no matter how foolish and naive it may seem in the eyes of the world
Unconditional love is all there is and no more judgment. Only through love changes can be made and where developments have to be stopped they have to be stopped with love.

Thanks so much Anny. We have the power to change our world, if only we would believe that. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. When we speak love, we speak power, and that power has the ability to move mountains.
We are on the move!! Let’s develop a goal that is so big the mere thought of it scares the hell out of us. Let’s change the world through love. I’m on board. 🙂

I know what you. It scares the hell out of me too sometimes but it just has to be.

I love this message Paul! Growing up I always wondered how someone could say that another was going to hell, or present a racist, sexist, bigoted thought and still claim to know/understand God or his will. Like you mention above, the fact that GOD IS LOVE, is so prevalent in the bible that to say he is anything else only proves that 1) the person hasn’t read there bible or 2) the person is not ready for Love, and therefor God, to enter their lives.
What I have found interesting over this past year is the inspiration that can be brought to others simply by reminding them of what can be accomplished through God, Love. A Prime example is my Mom recently got a promotion to Manager over a failing retail store. The previous manager had used the store and a personal bank account and would use the stores inventory and money for his personal purposes. Because of this, my mom felt that she had been promoted to captain of a sinking ship. In talking to her about it I simply reminded her that blaming the previous manager, and hating him was against God’s will and that instead she should forgive him and face the challenge head on, reminding her of David and Goliath. She went back to work the following Monday and instead of feeling sorry for herself, she trusted that she could get it done. When she would slip and complain about something I would listen and remind her of the Thorn in Paul’s side, and that God’s Grace was all she needed to focus on. Within 6 months she took a failing store, that was expecting to write off hundreds of thousands of dollars in inventory and made a profit. And what was even better was she was so humble about it, when people would congratulate her she would say it was God who helped.
I know that story is a little off topic, but I think it shows the Power that comes from Love, from belief, and from focus on what matters. She began to birth her Christ that day, and now she has a personal reminder of exactly what that Christ can accomplish.
Paul says
WOW!!!!
Not only is this story NOT off-topic, it is an extremely powerful testimony of what the scriptures are really all about. You need to write an article on this.
Thanks for sharing. You just made my day!!!

Paul
I’m reading this several times, I know their is something here, I’m trying to break through.
In light of this, how do we reconcile the scripture which says “No one has ever seen God”
I also have struggled with this scripture in the light of the belief that Jesus was God in the flesh and many saw him.
Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,
I do not know if this helps but i would like to give an example: no one has ever seen electricity either but we know it is there because of how it works and we see the results of that in lightning for instance. We even put it to use ourselves these days.
I think you can say that Jesus was an embodiment of God, to put it in other words. The only thing is: he is/was not the only one. In fact I believe that he came to earth in order to show us that, to show us who we really are and to teach us how to get to where he already was.
I think that the idea that he was the only son of God really means the one son of God or the son of God who was One with God, even when incarnated on earth. But again, we can be too. That is what this blog is all about.
Love,
Anny
Paul says
Hi Mike:
I definitely understand your quandary. I assume by your reference to the scripture “no one has ever seen God,” you are addressing Job’s claim that “now mine eye seeth thee.” It is important to understand that the scriptures are metaphoric in nature, and that “seeing God” merely means “knowing” God (in the experiential sense), and has nothing to do with literally seeing him with your physical eyes. I know I have never seen God with my physical eyes, and scripture tells me that God changes not. Of course not. God is not physical form, but LOVE.
This is why the Second Commandment (“thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image”) is so critical. By breaking this commandment, we obscure the fact that God indeed has no physical form. God is a SPIRIT, and that spirit is LOVE.
Jesus says in Matthew, “if thine eye be single, thy body shall be full of light.” YOU are the body of Christ. Christ is the light within you. YOU are his flesh and his bones (Eph. 5:30). Of course, because he dwells IN YOU. He comes IN YOUR FLESH, and “greater is he that is IN YOU, than he that is in the world.” The spirit of anti-Christ is anyone who doesn’t bring the doctrine that Christ comes in YOUR flesh (1 John 4:2-4). Read this scripture very carefully, because it is veeery rich. Christ being God in the flesh, means Christ being God in YOUR flesh.
This is the definition of Biblical marriage, which has nothing to do with the relationship between a physical man and woman. Marriage “is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church” (Eph. 5:32). You are the Church, Christ is the husband, YOU are the wife (difficult for us guys to concede). “The two shall be ONE FLESH — NOT TWO, but one” (Matt. 19:5-6). This is you and Christ — ONE FLESH. This is the mystery of Biblical marriage.
Unfortunately, the teaching of an external Christ obscures all this. But scripture says your hope of glory is Christ IN YOU (Col. 1:27). We can never come to understand the scriptures seeing them from a literal perspective. Paul says in Galatians 4:19, “I labor in travail until Christ be formed IN YOU”.
Compare the word “mystery” in Col. 1:27 and Eph. 5:32. It is the same mystery.
Let me know if this helps. I am happy to pursue this further with you if you desire. It is a critical subject if we are to understand the divinity that is US.
I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your question. I saved commenting on it for last because I felt I needed to give it some time and care.

Hi Mike!
I felt compelled to respond to your post here as I can feel your angst with coming to terms with what you & myself included have been conditioned to accept, obey and believe, all the while knowing deep down something was askew.
Many times I have been at a brick and mortar church during service and have stared at the Cross above the alter, with tears streaming down like an ocean, almost as if my heart was sad that the message being delivered was not one that God/Christ wanted us to hear.
We have many blocks placed in our hearts, souls and minds as we have searched for more meaning in our spiritual quests. Removing these blocks is essential to unlock your heart to a more uplifting understanding and truth. This will come to pass for you as you contemplate and remove these blocks.
Paul has responded to you with such clarity, that is extremely difficult to put into words, but he has somehow addressed your post with a distinctive message that can help remove some of the blocks that have been fermenting and preventing your spiritual understandings.
Also, Anny has done a fine job with her analogy about electricity and the invisible, of which there definitely are so many more invisible workings in our universe and within ourselves.
We cannot “see” it but yet when we come to “know” it, then we “see”!
I AM…therefore I LOVE, is the Christ with in you and every other human we walk this earth with, our brothers and sisters…
As Jesus stated “Get behind thee Satan/ego”, he simply commanded his ego not to rule his heart and soul, we must learn our human ego nature in order to know when it is trying to de-rail us. The ego will in fact respond to an authentic command from the heart and will cease fire.
It has no choice because it is of lower nature.
Of course, some ego is necessary to survive, but you are the commander of it, how much or how little is all up to you and having your survival needs met. The ego is primitive but yet continues to have the power to throw a higher spiritual quest into a tailspin.
It likes the blocks and preset programming, its job becomes much more difficult when we question and seek.
Think of “lazy” as not a physical condition but a spiritual one, if we continue to dismiss the truth our hearts and souls seek, then we are spiritually lazy and unfulfilled.
As Paul has also stated in his reply and I can agree, it is sometimes difficult for guys to grasp or understand the concept of being the Wife of Christ.
Consider this: Jesus, the Christ, born a human man, I am certain struggled with incorporating the male/female polarity’s, as we all do as humans, both male and females, we see this everyday in the news and our community’s, but we can also see that as we “evolve” (love spelled twice in one word), LOVE becomes manifest in every aspect of our lives, we begin to heal, more understanding comes in to replace fear and past hurts, we are freed from the chains that have bound us.
Love/God does not always have to be expressed openly, but if we truly and authentically feel it in ourselves it creates an even more powerful energy, and although “unseen” again, it is there and moves through you to another and on and on…you do have an “effect” and this is our most VIP, CEO job here, right now!
Your post alone here concerning Paul’s outstanding article has surely helped many who come here to read, but could not openly discuss or even question this, BUT you have brought it to light, and made a light for them.
If you are a fisherman, you know navigation, “red right return”, we always come home on the starboard (right side), of the red (love) buoy, which leads us to the Lighthouse and Homeport!
I hope you will continue to participate here with our family at Josh’s SOS, stay on board with us…
With Love,

Paul,
As someone who was raised a Southern Baptist, I am just dumbfounded. At first I laid the article down because while I have been reading everything I could on this blog site and had no problem with it, everything I had read until this article was about the Old Testament. This, now this is the heart of the matter. I perfectly get the concept and the reasoning, What has me distressed is the dogma I was fed for so many years and then carried around as excess baggage after I left traditional belief system. I have decided this incarnation was to find this. However, I want make that final step to much baggage but I can work on it.
Paul says
Hi Cherie:
I can definitely understand the distress. What is very important to understand is that the natural comes before the spiritual. I’ve heard it said that one cannot teach what one does not know. The dogma of religion represents merely the first step in the progression from natural to spiritual, and is a necessary part of the process, even as Adam had to die to become Christ. It represents “babes in Christ” status — those who simply do not understand the meat of spirituality. My wife has expressed your sentiments, as well. There was a time when I felt cheated by religion. I had to come to realize that I was blind, and as such couldn’t see what it was that I needed to lead me. It has been only over time that I have learned to cease going outside myself for the information I need. Christ is the power and wisdom of God that is within me. Once I learned that lesson, my life gradually began to change. You will never know the power of the Christ within until you go there to meet him.
Thanks so much for your comment.

Hi Cherie,
I was a Southern Baptist for 7 years. I completely understand. The funny thing about the Baptist church I was in is that they would keep sending the brightest and the best to seminaries where they would shed the dogma like a snake shedding skin and never come back. It was eye opening making a transition from fundamentalist to whatever I am now. The people in the Baptist church were good people for the most part. I think what helps me is understanding that it was instructive to see the world through Baptist-colored glasses for a time. I have switched the color of my glasses more than once. Each time I thought I had a clear pair when I started. Different aspects of my spirit grew in different places I have been. It was like being an artist… I had my rose-colored period, my blue period, my red-white-and-blue period, my moralist period, my how-could-those-hypocrites-be-so stupid period, my social gospel period., my obsession with the supernatural period, my chanting and yoga period, and so on. The distress during each transition was a good motivation to learn all about the next place, while being able to understand the weaknesses of the last place more clearly, and also that I could be under the spell of an illusion until I could detach myself and stop judging, and just observe. I think that last step is the ultimate step. It is worth mucho, mucho pesos. If I can observe myself without judgment, understanding just pours in, as well as being at peace with who I am at the moment, with a healthy outlook about whatever I am going to become. Right now I am going through a “I’ve already become that, I just don’t know it yet” period. But I am not there yet. I watch my mind alternate between the old extreme “my past and present experience and decisions determine and limit my future so I better be careful” and the new paradigm “my destiny determines my past, even though it seems like I have free will, so just lean back, enjoy the ride, and learn what you can along the way”. I don’t have to let go of one paradigm and grapple to seize the other. I just watch, and things happen for good. I hope this helps. If not, I owe you mucho, mucho pesos.

Hi Paul,
Fantastic message. The phrasing and pacing reminded me of a radio bible study broadcast. I was going to tell you to record it, but you already have on You Tube. Your treatment of Spirit of Fear, Power, and Love was mind opening. I’ve been learning about that in my study of Enneagrams. I’m a personality type 5. I have a weakness of fear when I am underdeveloped. Enneagram theory tells me that to grow I must swim against the current and transform into my direct opposite, a type 8, which is the Power personality. The underdeveloped type 8 wields power in order to be loved. That is their ego motivation to learn all their tricks of dazzling and manipulating others. The developed type 8 uses these skills to bring love to others. This is the life path from helpless victim to effective leader.
Great job. Very skillful.

Robert, believe me when I tell you, it was mind-opening for me as well. I’m looking forward to your article on Enneagrams. It sounds fascinating! I really appreciate your comment.

Hello Paul,
Have just now read your soul-awakening, Christ-moving article, Wow! Brilliant! In essence your post simplifies the almost un-explainable. And you did so in such awesome fashion! I can totally relate to this article. It’s so fantastic, Paul, to have contributors of your caliber of insight and understanding of Scripture, to this blog — thanks to Josh, in this regard.
There is nothing in this post to bother anyone who seeks to know and express their eternal authentic nature, regardless of their religious teachings. Love is freeing, and Love is REAL. “Perfect love casteh out all fear” and, your post, Paul, captures and clarifies this Truth amazingly well.
Thank you!

Hi Paul!
I can agree with all of the entire audience above, simply magnificent!!
Reading this article, I felt as if you were on the stage, and I was in the audience being captured and mesmerized by such a sound message of Truth!
In fact, I could almost hear your voice, there was so much Love put into your writing…
As a child and young woman, I rejected many teachings and actions because I somehow instinctively had a knowing that “God is Love” and when I wasn’t feeling any Love coming from whatever experience I may have been going though, my only defense was to back off or reject it completely and somehow come to terms with it along the way.
But knowing “God is Love” was so to say, my secret and I protected it…and in return it protected me
Today, that knowing has been magnified 100x’s over!
Spirit or developing Spirituality was definitely a more challenging aspect, and I can see this in some of our other posts on your article here as well…
No matter how hard I prayed, read or contemplated wanting to feel more spiritually alive, it simply was not there…what was wrong?
So I took it to be a flaw within myself, until one day it was there!
It came into my heart & soul automatically, like a firework was just set off.
Whether it was a deep yearning for so long, or it was just “my time” to actually feel Spirit moving within, I don’t know. But I did know, Yes! Thank you God for giving me this beautiful gift!!
and I thank you Paul for defining this all so perfectly…
may everyone who reads this, put aside all and let Paul’s words sink deep into your heart of hearts!!
Love,
Sparks

Excellent job Paul. I’m there with you. I pray for a revival and awakening of the Spirit of Christ missing in the churches. I’m sensing it more and more and your article nailed it.
Thanks for sharing,
Paul says
Thanks a ton for your comment, Thomas. I’m not so certain that there needs to be an “awakening” in the churches, as much as there needs to be a movement FROM the church OUTSIDE to the church INSIDE. WE are the church of Christ, and he dwells within us.
Thomas S says
Ahhh. True we are the body of Christ. Taking it inside is the tricky part with all the security alarms. How should we go about it?

Hi Thomas,
yes, tricky is a actually a kind word for all your question encompasses…lol
Remember first, The body of Christ is always inside, you do not have to anything there
That was your born gift, given at birth
Recognizing this is important, because you have no lack
Be Brave/Courageous/Aware
Pray/Meditate with the best of your authentic self/heart
Recognize & accept the alarms/fears, forgive them
Ask that they be removed to open space for a renewed Spirit to be born
Shed the old skin, get rid of the parasites and grow a fresh new beautiful heart and soul!
You can do it!

Pedro says
Brother Paul,
While I appreciate the enthusiasm of your article, I saw a red flag as soon as you questioned whether or not you should “expose” this information – based on “indisputable” evidence – and offer “a correct interpretation of scripture to those looking for truth.” Moreover, you then immediately suggest that for the uninitiated the consumption of this “truth” may actually lead to some doing themselves a “disservice”, though not before questioning your own wisdom in letting the proverbial cat out of the bag.
Claiming no authority, my two pesos are this: the map is not the territory, the menu is not the meal, the word is not the thing. Knowledge isn’t a formulation; it’s a power, an energy anyone can access at any moment for it is entombed within each and every one of us awaiting resurrection (the oak is already in the acorn as Aleph is always buried in Eretz), but to do so it’s necessary to rise above the flood of “facts”, interpretations, explanations, creeds, cultures, attitudes, traditions, philosophies, religions, ect. We must truly let go, die daily and stop projecting the past into the future. Creation is now. The Revelation is now. The Resurrection is now. A wise man once said “There is no transcendence other than our intimacy with the unknown as the unknown. Seeking it is avoiding it.” I can’t help but think of John 5:39.
I agree with most here that reading the Bible literally is an example of subordinating the intellect to what are often very childish psychological needs (magic apples, talking serpents, a geographical heaven, an anthropomorphic deity…) and that the Church has done far more to plant seeds of fear, guilt and sin than love, peace and truth. But what is truth? Yhshwh does in fact give Pilate a resounding answer, the only answer. “The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao.”
But if we’re going to dig in the Book, let’s not forget that the prohibition from eating of the Tree was only given to Adam, for Esha was not yet created and so didn’t actually disobey when encountering our ancient friend, Mr. Snake. In fact, immediately after issuing the prohibition YHWH-Elohim says “it is not good for the man to be alone” and sets out to build a “helper suited to him.” This proper helper, Esha, is made while Adam is in Tardamah (“deep sleep”) for the very purpose of eating, because had Adam eaten alone he would have surely died. And let’s remember that only Adam was booted from the Garden (Gen. 3:23-23).
Your message about love and wisdom is important, but we must also love the serpent, who is the carrier of all forgotten wisdom. The serpent is a life saver. Mosheh and Yhshwh remind us. There is no Christ if Ben Adam (Son of Man) isn’t “lifted” in the “wilderness.” Catch a fire and ride the snake!
Pedro
Paul says
Pedro:
Thanks so much for your comment. Believe it or not, I actually agree with most it. A major part of love is honoring the right of people to believe what they want to believe. Love doesn’t attempt to force others into its belief paradigms. The comments in my article that you reference were merely an attempt to honor the beliefs of others, while bringing forth my understanding of the truths I addressed therein to those who are ready for them.
The blessings that pour forth from the windows of heaven are our adversities and afflictions (the same windows of heaven out of which it rained on the earth for 40 days and 40 nights), and so you are absolutely correct that we must “catch a fire and ride the snake.” Lucifer was also one of the three archangels, and as such was also a messenger of God. I think the great key here is to allow the adversary/adversities to do their intended work, which is to cause us to cry out to the spirit within for deliverance from the bondages brought to us by our adversary/adversities. “Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
You actually hit the nail on the head here. Thanks so much for your comment. It is much appreciated.
Paul says
Pedro, addendum here.
I overlooked your second-to-last paragraph of your comment. The way I see it is that “Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression” (1 Tim. 2:14). Further, Matt. 16:21-23 addresses the conflict between the Serpent (Peter) and Jesus (Adam) when Peter tells Jesus he won’t die. Jesus reprimands him, saying “Get thee behind me Satan.” This was the conflict in the garden with Jesus and the serpent.
Blessings.
sparks says
Hi Pedro,
Nice to meet you!
There are so many more times Jesus encountered the snake/serpant, and in Matt 4:3-10 and Luke 4:3-12, on both accounts yes, indeed Jesus did “catch the fire and ride the serpent”, yet still rebuked the ego/desires of false power for his ultimate glory of the Unconditional Love of Humanity.
Remember, the serpent/sheds (ridding itself of parasites and promoting future growth) his skin several times a years and during this time they are very vulnerable, some cannot even see.
I can agree with your slogan Pedro, it holds much knowledge in it concerning the snake and what the snake can teach us!
I simply cannot agree that animals are just here and mean nothing, I think we could actually create an entire blog about their reference in Scripture and find several hidden aspects of their nature to our own. I have always loved animals, observing and watching their behaviors.
In fact, my mother told me a story that I simply had no fear of them at all, as a 2 year old, I came running to her with a bat, that I apparently found on the side of the house!
She almost passed out, but I guess I thought it was a great find 🙂
Thank you for this unique interpretation! You have the “art of contemplation” going on big time!

Sparks and Other Believers in Canine Consciousness,
Similarities in brain structure between humans and other mammals suggest that many mammals, including chimps and household pets, are capable of having spiritual experiences through their brain’s limbic system. We can’t interview them to confirm what they experience, but we can observe them. For instance, chimps in the wild are known to have a fascination after a heavy rainfall with waterfalls, and as a result will perform a dance which seems to put them in a trance, or they will remain still while staring at the falling water for long periods of time.

Robert, I Truly loved the article you posted on the spirituality of dogs/pets.
Dogs, live in the NOW. This moment. Simple and pure. I have learned so much from the Dogs I have had. How to live and how to die…and yes, unconditional love.
I had a beloved boxer (Cain) that passed away 4 years ago. His heart was failing and his gums turned blue. The Vet was 30 minutes away. He still obeyed everything I said. He got in the car and sat in the Seat. I was driving and telling him “Everything is going to be ok, just hold on”. Something Hit me, I realized that was Fear and my Ego talking. I turned to him and said “It’s OK, buddy…You can go, I’m going to be ok… You can go”. He nuzzled me with his head and his spirit left his body. It was truly beautiful.
Just 2 weeks ago, my MIL had a massive stroke, brain damage and paralyzed on her right side. My husband, his brother and I were around her hospital bed and her stats started dropping. I looked at them and said “This is it, Guys…Let’s send her off with Love”. The followed my lead. We all told her we loved her, we were going to be ok and that she could GO”. We watched her spirit leave her body. My husband gasped for breath and said “DID YOU SEE THAT”? He then said “Have you ever seen anything like that before”? I said “Yes, with Cain”.
I could go on and on with the Lesson I have learned. Amazing teachers. 🙂
Thank you, so much, for posting the article.

Robert & Laurie,
Robert, Thanks much for this article, all so very true and beautiful!
You must have a canine friend to appreciate all this?
Also, relative to the article, the Native Americans hold a big spot in my heart, how I wish they did not have to go though all the sorrows. Oh, now we appreciate their ways and wisdoms, why did we not see it then and keep them safe and love them for it?
My favorite is Chief Seattle: my bumper sticker on my car “The earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the Earth” and the rest of his wisdom goes on to tell us
“All things are connected, like the blood that Unites us ALL, Man did not weave the web of life, he is but a strand in it; whatever he does to the web, he does to himself”
Laurie,
My special one was REBEL, named for his mommy and her rebellious nature ; )
He lived and graced my life, to be 16 and died in my arms, I did feel Peace as well and thanked God for giving me him, we had a long goodbye as I held him all through the night, laying with him in his bed, talking to him about all our adventures together. He used to dance with me!! and also smiled when I returned from work as he greeted me.
They were all “special”, but Rebel was my super duper special one. He was my Shaman!
All you shared is immensely true and I am right there with you, as I always encourage parents to allow their children to have a dog, as far as I’m concerned a home is “More Love” with a dog in it!
“A dog is the only thing on Earth that loves you MORE than he loves himself”

Paul,
First of all I want to thank you for bringing the light of the Christ within through this message – a very skillful expose of the scripture. Love truly is the uniting factor of all things, and it is Christ, emblematic of the higher self which is the epitome and power of this truth. When the Christ is birthed within, amazing things happen, and it is this message that mainstream Christianity needs to come to realize. Looking forward to seeing more!
Blessings.

Pedro says
Paul,
I smell what you’re cooking, and appreciate your thoughts. Let’s take a closer look at what your response implies:
Hheva (Eve) “was deceived and in the transgression.” I don’t see this. It seems to me you’re saying that God intentionally set up a trap in the midst of the garden by placing two very similar trees right next to each other without specifying which was which. (Josh has pointed out that they are one and the same.) Seeing as how Adam was alone in the Garden until his helper Esha (“woman”) was created after a sequence of lesser species was generated and named, who were these trees put there for other than man (Adam/Esha)? While I think it’s clear Esha was made for the explicit purpose of eating the fruit, you seem to be bordering on a belief in an act of disobedience as original sin, which points to fear, the opposite of love. You then use St. Paul to conflate an act of free will, a truly creative act, with deception and transgression, thereby turning birth into a sin – a very familiar belief plaguing humanity. Furthermore, in Hebrew the good and evil are Tov and Raa. Tov (“good”) means limitation and resistance, while Raa (“evil”) is movement and liberation. Note also that Raa begins the the letter Raysh (spelt Raysh-Yod-Sheen) and gives birth to Sheen, the cosmic breath or spirit that is in and around everything. This “deception” was a gift, for the Sheen was given to Adam/Esha via the serpent, or Nahhash.
In keeping with the theme of allegory so brilliantly deciphered here, is it hard to see the Garden as a fruitful womb and the expulsion of Adam as a beautiful birth? (Though only we – via the inner Christ – can “awaken” and truly “birth” Adam, who remains asleep as noted in the Bible, for nowhere is there a verse that tells us he woke up from the Tardamah.) This is by no means any curse; rather, it’s a blessing, and it only came about by an act of freedom on the part of Esha, which you (behind St. Paul) say is a deception and transgression. However, I will admit there is in fact a deception, but it isn’t Esha who is deceived, but the one who fails to see that the “letter kills.” The serpent is our wise friend and YHWH-Elohim was well aware of this. In fact, it isn’t the serpent but YHWH who tempts us. As the saying goes, if you want your children to do something, tell them not to do it.
If you doubt the ambiguous and at times contradictory role of YHWH read Exodus 4:19 where YHWH tells Mosheh “Go, return to Egypt: for all the men are dead which sought thy life.” Then two seconds later in 4:24 “it came to pass by way in the inn, that the Lord met him, and sought to kill him.” How about the Parable of the Lost Son? Why does the father (God) not even argue with the younger son who asks for his share of the estate (what he’d normally receive only when the father died)? Why does the father not even try to stop his son from going out into a “distant country”, where before long he’s reduced to poverty and wretchedness? (If God argued he’d be admitting the existence of something other than himself.) And why does the father not even care to listen to the son’s emotional apology upon returning hungry and disheveled, instead interrupting him to get a party started? Disobedience gave the younger son wisdom, while staying at home (obeying/not eating the apple) led the older son to be ignorant of the fact that had always had everything he could ever want right under his nose. And worse, the older son is self-righteous and critical of his brother, not wanting anyone who doesn’t think like him to get in the “house.” (Like the story of Eden, the two sons are one person, as Adam/Esha are one.) The older brother was blind or unborn because he had always obeyed and therefore never “had his eyes opened.” He had never thought for himself or had the balls to leave the crib. What if Robinson Crusoe had listened to his father?
As for the role of the adversary being to “cause us to cry out to the spirit within for deliverance from the bondages brought to us by our adversary/adversities”, I think you ought to thank YHWH for every single one of them. Jesus NEEDED Judas, that’s why he chose him. This brings us back to the idea of duality vs. non-duality, life and death, good and evil, etc. Think of Hegel’s dialectic: Thesis and antithesis must be integrated into a synthesis. As Dante said, “The road to Paradise begins in hell.” The sweet isn’t as sweet without the bitter. Life and death are one. How can one discover this? Eat the damn apple already and start evolving – and enjoy the ride! After all, God, who is Truth and Love, did say the snake was clever, didn’t he? And isn’t God also Life? Is it really possible that Life could deny itself by putting a cherubim with flaming sword to block the way to the Tree of Life/knowledge of good and evil? That too is an invitation, though not one for the faint of heart. Jacob accepts it successfully and his battle earns him a blessing. That cherubim needs to be challenged and pushed aside, no matter what the cost, for the reward is inconceivable. It’s the only way to truly advance. The only deceit is to believe God wants you to be an automaton without curiosity and originality living in fear of punishment for thinking outside the box and having faith in the gift of reason. Ramakrishna said, “Bondage is of the mind, freedom too.” Conditioning needs to be destroyed. Every “certainty” needs to be questioned and challenged. Let’s not forget that the Garden would have quickly become the most boring and stagnant place in the world with nothing to compare it to.
As someone who is bilingual and has lived many years in different countries where translation from one language to another causes manifold difficulties in modern times on a daily basis, you seem to have no shortage of faith that English translations in the 21st century have survived a a few thousand years and countless translations in various tongues unscathed. (Not to mention the reality of the crude interests of authority figures and institutions, the history of the battles between popes and kings for the minds of the rabble, ignorant copyists, interpolations, omissions, errors, etc.) Then there is the issue of taking the Bible to be an infallible and unimpeachable guide. Years ago Alan Watts encountered a man who suggested that if indeed there is a God then he would have surely given us such a guide for behavior and truth about the universe – the “Good Book.” Watts responded by saying, “I think nothing of the kind. No loving Father would have given his children something that would rot their brains. For if we had an infallible guide we would never think for ourselves, therefore our minds would become atrophied.” The Bible and Truth aren’t one and the same thing. Watts also noted how it is far more dangerous to worship a book than to adore wooden idols. We needn’t look to any authority for truth, but to make truth the only authority…
How do you like them apples?!

Hello Pedro,
I read your comment once again in order to try and understand it a little better and it did become a little clearer to me.
There is one remark. You write:
That cherubim needs to be challenged and pushed aside, no matter what the cost, for the reward is inconceivable. It’s the only way to truly advance.
Cherubim is plural. It is one cherub (or rather ‘kerub’ I should say, as it is written 20-200-2). Here there is written the kerubim, so there are at least two.
Literally translated it says something like: … and put east of the Garden of Eden the kerubim and the flame of the turning sword in order to guard/protect the way to the Tree of Life.
What if they are not put there to keep man from entering the Garden or Eden again but to make sure that the way to the tree of life is kept in order??? That it remains open!
The verb used is ‘lisjmor’ which is what a shepherd does. God is called the Sjomer Jisrael.
The flame of the turning sword I see as the searchlight that is turning around and seeks for the truth. The word sword I also see as discernment.
The kerubim are there to help us when we are ready, not to keep us out!
Why did I not see this before?
Love,
Anny

I want to Thank all of you for what you are writing. Joshua for the blog and “God” finally opening a door, you Paul for having the guts to say what you did in the above article, that actually goes for you too Joshua. I have never seen anything like this in print. Anny and Sparks for further elaboration, I have lost count how many times I have read this one article. I want to share it, scream it from the balcony but they would only think it was some crazy FOREIGNER, since 99.9 are not even Christian and very few speak English. Like Paul said, “I have buckled up for the ride of my life,” the wind is blowing in my face and it feels so good.
THANKS

Hi Cherie!
You certainly have made my day, expressing that in some way my (our) words have inspired you…this makes me very happy!
I understand exactly how you feel as I have experienced that same wonderful feeling of wanting to shout, scream it, being so enthusiastic when my eyes and ears were spiritually opened , I remember going outside singing & dancing with glee (no one was around at this time, otherwise lol, they would of thought I was insane, and even then I didn’t care what anyone thought), no one can ever take that beautiful and blissful feeling of joy from you!!
I was brought up in the Roman Catholic religion, and as children during Confirmation time, we chose a Patron Saint, usually it was one that resembled each child’s name, well, I chose St. Francis Of Assisi, and later on in my life, I studied and researched his life.
It was great getting to know someone who created a Prayer that was and continues to be a most heartfelt prayer of mine and expressed a universal (one song) sentiment, rather than the usual repetitive prayers.
I could say his prayer many times and always felt a oneness with all of life!
He in fact had a spiritual experience, like ours, one night during a full moon (thinking of Josh’s last article now),
well, he was “in the spirit”, (in that time and age villages were of course much smaller), and he was so filled with joy he began running through the streets and town, shouting wake up, wake up for everyone in the town to come out and see Sister Moon!
There are many other stories about his life of service to mankind, that are so incredibly beautiful and I was glad I chose him as my patron saint…
I would like to share his prayer with you:
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
As I write this to you, I am still after all these years, inspired by his prayer
Again, Cherie, thank you for thanking us!
With Love, Sparks

Hi Sparks,
I have been raised an orthodox Protestant and we did not learn anything about saints, but later in life I got to know a lot about St. Francis and indeed I have been to Assisi and visited his grave several times. There is a special atmosphere of dedication there somehow and in spite of the fact that it all was strange to us it felt good too.
This prayer you wrote about above is my favourite prayer too. He was a very special person who knew what it was all about. He is a great inspiration to mankind.
Love,
Anny

Hi Cherie,
You are very welcome. I remember feeling something of the kind when it all started to make sense to me too. And even though I live in the midst of my own countrymen now, I still had the feeling that at least 99% did not have the foggiest idea what I was talking about.
Love,
Anny
Paul says
Cherie:
You are so welcome. I am so thankful you found value in the article. The reason why we do what we do is simply to share what we are learning (that is, provide an alternative perspective to those who are seeking), even as we are still learning and growing. We must not “leave the natural use of the woman,” which is the carrier of the seed (we are the woman, and Christ is the seed we are carrying), burning in our lust one toward another (each of us playing God with one another). I believe our mission is just to share with others, and allow them to make up their own minds as to whether it is something to be accepted or rejected. This leaves us free to be the vessels of love that the “law of God” commands.
Thank YOU, Cherie.

Hi Paul,
Two quotes: the first one is from you:
“The Christ, the power that is the offspring of love, needs to be awakened, or resurrected, within us. This is what is meant by the “resurrection of Christ.” We are the grave (the earth, or ground) in which the Christ lay dead for three days and three nights. In other words, power lies dead within us because of our inability to love. But this power is not dead, but merely sleeps and can be awakened. Indeed, it MUST be awakened – resurrected – within you.”
The second one is from me:
“The more I read it though the more I am convinced though that this is really the same process as we discussed again in my last article about the hidden symbols. I see the sexual energy as (part of) the Life Force which we identied as the ‘nachasj’/kundalini which turned into the messiah after having been anointed. This led to ascension and the rising of the Kundalini/Holy Spirit. The process that is needed for this anointment proved to be that of Gethsemane and Golgotha.
I see this transmutation of sexual energy as just another approach and maybe another side of the same process. You did not give any details yet but you implied it is not for the faint of heart (neither is Gethsemane or Golgotha) and you mentioned the importance of Love.”
Do you see that here we have the same thing again? It is the same pattern.
Love,
Anny
Paul says
Wow!!
I had not made the correlation, and I thank you for bringing it to my attention. Amazing!! This is fascinating.
Paul says
I have now read and re-read and re-read your comment. You have blown me away!! This is astounding. I was actually blown away by your quote in Joshua’s article. To see these quotes side by side — something’s brewing in the stratosphere.
anny says
There sure is. We are finally getting there. It is one big pattern and everything hangs together. We just have to see it.
Paul says
As I like to say, Christ doesn’t introduce anything new, he just opens our eyes to what is already there. This is the healing of our blindness. He doesn’t give us new eyes; he opens the ones we already have (the spiritual ones).
Robert says
Paul,
I was wondering if at some time you could shed some light on the significance of the description in Acts of the disciples tarrying in Jerusalem until the paraclete (helper, advocate, comforter, Christian Holy Spirit) who Jesus,, before the ascension, promised would fall upon them, empowering them, and then falling on the Gentiles, all this in a very public and demonstrable way. In my opinion, that event clashes with the concept of a divine spark already within us and the progressive, quiet path to higher consciousness experienced by so may other peoples.
anny says
Hi Robert,
I have never really thought about this matter yet, but the first thing that comes to mind is again that this is a certain phase of the process that is taking place inside man. Maybe people and gentiles are to be looked for inside ourselves, not outside. I think it starts with that part of the process where we have done all we can do and wait for the Kundini to rise in us.
Just thinking out loud.
Love,
Anny
Robert says
Anny,
The concepts of spiritual breakthrough are very similar. The spirit of Christ seems to gradually awaken the sleeping soul of man, as does the rising Kundalini. They lead to a breakthrough and then an accelerated spiritual growth. They do not usually seem to come naturally. Some message or some technique must be heard or taught, and then believed in or followed. We need to be nudged a little by experiences outside ourselves. We do even better when we compare notes, even when we disagree.
Sparks says
Anny,
So very true!
There has to be a starting point, where a spiritual seed takes root…
and here we are, all together, right now
Sharing, growing and learning
How beautiful is this!!
Sparks says
Hi Robert,
Thinking here on your question as well and I believe you are referring to the Pentecost, which Luke wrote about in Scripture/Acts.
In my understanding, they, the 12 were READY to receive the ripe apple/Spirit, it was divided when they were all together, so they could see and hear together, thus, creating a whirlwind of confidence/on fire, for them to go forth, as they would, continuing to divide the ripe apple amongst people of all nations.
They were fully ignited to take action, sending rockets here, there and everywhere!
Right now, I feel this “ripple effect” going on igniting the divine spark all over our planet!
If the 12 were here with us now, I think they would know their lives and deaths were not in vain, they did the work…God’s work!
I may be incorrect, but I believe it was Peter who said to them: “Rise, let us be on our way”
Be Blessed,
Sparks
Paul says
Hi Robert.
I will add my two cents to the amazing posts of those who have so far responded to your question here. All of them speak loudly to me, and there is a lot of meat in all of them.
Once again, the symbols of the Bible must be decoded if we are to understand. Jerusalem is one such code. When we think of Jerusalem, we obviously think of the literal city that is in the literal country of Israel. However, the Biblical meaning is as MUCH different from the literal interpretation as the Biblical definition of mother and father is vastly different from that to which we are accustomed in the natural.
I think that of first import, we must understand that WE are the house/church/temple of God. I offer you the following scriptures:
“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth IN YOU?” (1 Cor. 3:16 KJV);
But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. (Hbr 3:6 KJV)
But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, WHICH IS THE CHURCH OF THE LIVING GOD, the pillar and ground of the truth. (1 Tim. 3:15 KJV)
So the temple/house/church of God is not a building. We, individually, are the temple/house/church of God, and WE are where God dwells. God dwells in his house, his temple, his church. “The spirit of God dwells in us” (1 Cor. 3:16). As I mention in this article, the “spirit of God,” is the LOVE, POWER, and WISDOM of God, and thus is the Christ.
But scripture also says that God dwells in Jerusalem. Notice:
“And the God that hath caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter [and] to destroy this house of God which [is] at Jerusalem ….” (Ezr 6:12 KJV)
“Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, which dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.” (Psa 135:21 KJV)
“So shall ye know that I [am] the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.” (Joe 3:17 KJV)
Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain. (Zec 8:3 KJV)
Contradiction? Does God dwell in the temple/house/church, or in the city of Jerusalem? The answer:
The BIBLICAL meaning of the Jerusalem of the Bible is the Temple, and not the literal city of Jerusalem. It is talking about us. Notice:
“Because of thy temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto thee.” (Psa 68:29 KJV)
“[A Psalm of Asaph.] O God, the heathen are come into thine inheritance; thy holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps“. (Psa 79:1 KJV) [NOTE: the last portion of the verse describes the first portion – you will find this consistently throughout scripture.]
“In the courts of the LORD’S house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.” (Psa 116:19 KJV)
“And he built altars n the house of the LORD, OF WHICH THE LORD SAID, In Jerusalem will I put my name.” (2Ki 21:4 KJV) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which [was] in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein. (3) Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which [was] at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them.” (Dan 5:2-3 KJV)
There are many other scriptures that show Jerusalem as the Temple, but these should suffice for now.
The next scripture provides proof of the above, and correlates perfectly:
(28) For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither [is that] circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: (29) But he [is] a Jew, which is one INWARDLY; and circumcision [is that] of the heart, in the spirit, [and] not in the letter; whose praise [is] not of men, but of God. (Rom 2:28-29 KJV)
I hope this is clear so far.
Now then, if we have sufficiently established that Jerusalem is the temple of God, and we are that temple/house/church, let’s look at what John has to say about the rooms in the house of God:
“(2) In my Father’s house are many mansions [G3438]: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. … (23) Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode [G3438] with him.” (Jhn 14:2, 23 KJV)
The words “mansions” and “abode” are the same Greek word, and these verses make clear that God’s abode is with man. Absolutely! We are the house of God, and the Spirit of God dwells IN US.
Now then, with this foundation, let’s take a look at the subject scripture in Acts 2, and see if we can make it make sense.
The “tarrying in Jerusalem,” is simply the tarrying “in the temple.” There are many “rooms” in the house of God (including the sanctuary and the “holy of holies.” The “upper room” of the house of God (the temple) symbolizes higher consciousness awaiting the entering of Christ into the temple, for:
“(17) [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and SHALL BE IN YOU. (Jhn 14:17 KJV)
The Christ that was WITH them was waiting to enter INTO them. This is the same story as the parable of the virgins in Matt. 25. I will just show the end of the parable:
“And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready WENT IN with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.” (Mat 25:10 KJV)
I know I was very long-winded with this one, but I hope it makes sense.
Blessings.

Pedro,
Your original comment inspired me to explore the Tao. I admit, even though I appreciated Paul’s message, I was a little frustrated but could not identify why. I think the Tao provides a hint. It is uncomfortable to become totally wrapped up in verbal explanations and scriptural proofs. especially esoteric ones where it seems sometimes like one is squeezing lemon out of an apple. The Tao points toward the truth within that is intuitive. Meditation does a better job of revealing the intuitive than endless blogging. I think it may be where we all find the same truth beyond words. The blogging is simply a confirmation of this as we try to express the inexpressible, each in our own way.
Paul says
Robert, this comment represents the be-all and the end-all of everything we are doing. The whole point is to go within. THAT’s where our answers are. There is no amount of intellectual understanding that can take the place of meditation/prayer. We MUST go within, and stay there until we get our answers. The wise among us will stop looking at tools like this one for answers, and do what these tools are suggesting. Knowing, in the real sense, does not comes from the outside, but from inside. I didn’t learn all that I have come to know by going to man. In fact, I completely forsook all ideas/opinions of others, and took ALL of my questions, ALL of my concerns, ALL of my “cares” inside. My sole purpose of my writings/videos, is to help people to understand this very fact.

Paul,
You hit the nail on the head. Thanks.

Hello Robert! Howdy Sparks!
Robert. First, if you do delve into the Tao, check out a few translations. Like the Bible, translations and interpretations vary greatly, none truly grasping the spirit of the original fully…
Your comment about Acts and tarrying in Jerusalem got the wheels in my dome spinning. I have some ideas, most of which are not mine, that, while numerous, do eventually lead to Pentecost…by a somewhat vertiginous and circuitous route from Eden, passing through an act mistaken for fratricide and a peculiar Tower. This may be somewhat disjointed and chaotic, so please add to or comment on the storm of dots I’ve blown into this reply/query, as I wouldn’t have come to this manner of inquiry had God, in providing my daily bread, not left me a trail of breadcrumbs leading out the backdoor of the Catholic Church, this site being one of those tasty morsels!
So consider the following as points that may be connected, remembering that numbers, times, shapes, sound, movement (or lack thereof), colors, bodies (natural and man-made), animals, longitude and latitude, elements, weather, sexes, materials, flora and fauna, etc. are never random nor meaningless, though they are superfluous and beaten like a dead horse from Genesis to Revelation. Also keep in mind duality vs. non-duality and the relationship between energy and mass, essence and matter, male and female, body and psyche, outer and inner, creation and destruction, force and resistance, Adam (static) and Eve (dynamic). Let me repeat: I don’t understand everything I’m reeling off, and the only thing I’m certain of is that I’m ignorant of my own ignorance. However, as far as the OT goes, it seems to me that reading it in any language other than Hebrew with its numbers is like climbing a mountain and stopping halfway up to snap a picture of the peak instead of shooting for the very summit to enjoy the panorama it affords. Ideas?
Genesis 1: Third day of creation brings about “earth”, which in Hebrew is Eretz, Aleph being the first letter, thus making the cosmic force buried in “earth” or the container of Aleph. In Gen. 1:11 it says “let the earth bring forth grass, herb, fruit…whose seed is in itself.” This points to the concept of resurrection, in this case of Aleph, of the cosmic fire. “Nature’s innate quality is a non-resistance, a yielding in the absolute meaning of that word: a bringing forth fruit.”
Genesis 2: The Story of the Nations. God plants a garden in Eden, in the east where he places man. Adam is made from the “dust of the earth.” The name Adam is Aleph (1), Dallet (4), Mem (40 or 600). Dam in Hebrew means blood, so “Adam” is Aleph (the unthinkable, the cosmic breath) immersed in blood. “The fact that Mem final can be 40 (resistance) and can leap to 600 (cosmic fertility) indicates the vast range of possibilities in man. The true vocation of mankind is this transfiguration from 40 to 600.”
Genesis 3: The role of the serpent, an obvious phallic symbol and sign for evolution. Inherent association with wisdom. Also remember the serpent is made to crawl on its belly and eat the “dust of the earth”, and that only Adam is told by God that he will return to “dust.”
Genesis 4: Consider the names of Cain and Abel. In Hebrew they are Qaheen and Hevel. Why did “Cain” slay (shatter) “Abel”? Look at their “births”:
“And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord. And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.” (In Hebrew ground is Adamah.) When Adam is booted from the Garden it is to till the ground as well.
First, Eve is Hheva in Hebrew. The statement “I have gotten a man from the Lord” is her way of saying I have cosmic fire or YHWH. This is a definition of the “resurrection through womanhood of the immeasurable energy incarnate in existence.” This makes Qaheen (Cain) YHWH incarnate.
(“It cannot be overemphasized that the ecclesiastical traditions, giving as they do the words “God” for Elohim and “the Lord” for YHWH, bar the road to the understanding of the Bible. It is important to remember the real significance of these two schemas a the outset of any study concerning Qaheen, Elohim (Aleph-Lammed-Hay-Yod-Mem), read according to code (1.30.5.10.40), expresses the fact that the timeless discontinuous pulsation which is Aleph (1) underlies the functional movement of organisms (30), their life (5), and all existence (10) with their resistance to life (40). Thus Elohim is both an unique and a plural process. This process of life-death-in-existence is the only active agent in Genesis 1. It can only put into motion the repetitive production of prototypes, until the “blessing” and “sanctifying” of no. 7 in Genesis 2:3, which opens the way to all indeterminate possibilities.
YHWH is an altogether different sphere of life. Its schema 10.5.6.5 can only be actualized when the copulation (6) really takes place betwen 5 and 5, and that can only happen in mankind, between body and psyche. Obviously it cannot happen between a nutshell and its nut, nor between an eggshell and its germ, and no animal can ever decide to take control over its own body.”)
Getting back to “Cain and Abel”:
“But Qaheen, being YHWH itself, incarnate but in a state of amnesia, worships an image of himself which he projects (offering), thereby creating a distance between himself and himself. Since this form of worship reflects a lack of self-knowledge, it is rejected. The dialogue between Cain and the Lord becomes a soliloquy between YHWH the archetype and YHWH incarnate.
“This drama is at the core of human experience. We are told that Christ is within, or that there is an Atman, immortal soul or essence within us. Instead of plunging into that living life, what do we do? We worship a picture of what we suppose it is, which cannot be but a projection of its shell or container.”
Notice Adam is absent from the birth of Abel, as is Joseph from the birth of Jesus. (“Let the earth bring forth fruit…whose seed is in itself.”) And of course, Abel is the first shepherd in the Bible, establishing his dominion over the animals or flesh).
“Hevel (Abel) is nothing more than the carnal proliferation of the female in Hheva. This son has nothing of Adam, or rather he has from Adam soley the ‘dam’ (blood in Hebrew: the blood which Adamah drinks). With the birth of Set (Seth), who takes the place of Hevel, Hheva recognizes that it is Elohim who is there.” And Adam knew his wife again: and she bore a son, and called his name Seth; For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, who Cain slew. (Gen. 4:25)
Genesis 11: The building and destruction of the Tower of Babel on a plane in the land of Shinar. (Tower is another classic phallic symbol. Which reminds me – anyone notice the Washington Monument aerial view shows it to be smack dab in a vesica pisces?) Note the materials used in the building of the Tower. Also remember that God created all the animals and showed them to Adam “to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name therof.” And remember the significance of name changes, such as Abram-Abraham, Jacob-Israel, Simon-Peter.
“And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.” (Gen. 11:1-4)
Is there a correlation between fixation and destruction? “As long as the static, conserving element within us does not yield to the upspringing of cosmic fire that burns away the past and its false revelations, we shall maim the life within us…Any static factor in our minds eventually jeopardizes the flow of newness, of freshness, which is the specific quality of human genesis.”
As for Acts 2 and Pentecost:
“And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And they were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak his own language.”
What comes to mind when you think of a cloven tongue? Add fire and this points to something far greater. Recall that the Lord doesn’t send the woman out of the Garden, “heaven” (womb) in Genesis 3, only the man. Think of the chakra system, which begins at the base of the spine with the coiled serpent in 3.5 coils. The crown chakra is also called “seventh heaven”, a familiar term whose origin escapes most people. Surely there is a connection between Babel and Pentecost. In Babel, the movement originated on the ground and aimed for heaven. On Pentecost it is the other way around, yet the flame or cosmic serpent is raised from root to crown and instead of a shattering and chaos there comes a union and harmony. “Just as Moses lifted the serpent in the wilderness so must the Son of Man be lifted.”
Now consider the following and the purpose of this site, which Joshua and everyone here have united to lift, develop, refine and express:
“The praiseworthy attempt to become one people and to have one language is shattered (in the translation) by a so-called God who shamelessly declares the malice of his venture. “Let us go down and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. (Gen. 11:7).
“This shattering of Babel is a direct reference to the necessary hindering of mankind’s premature birth…We can therefore assume that Babel is Bible. The original meaning of it had to be confounded and distorted because mankind was not yet sufficiently evolved – not yet ready for the rebirth, or mutation, which the Bible describes as our potential. Does the renaissance of ontological insight in the present-day world indicate and emergent readiness?”
Destruction = creation. Death = birth. Hmmmm.
Cheers,
Pedro

There are many outstanding areas of your post here that are winking at me ; )
Also, I can see so many other fine points you have brought forth.
As for myself, I am still trying to figure out why we abandoned the Hebrew language, which I am definitely drawn to it because of its phonetic, numerical, and word interaction…its artistry is brilliant to me. Other than appreciating its beauty I become lost in translation, only seeing many correlations.

I enjoyed you brainstorm of ideas. It allowed me to peek into your world and see new things that I have never dreamed of. Babel = Bible. Wow. That kind of hit me by surprise, yet is has some merit to it.
I had to settle down a lot before I understood you were experiencing a lot of connections all at once and trying your best to keep up and document them. Separating each connection into a separate paragraph was helpful. You also had an introduction. Just add some transitions from dot to dot, a little explanation, and a summary and you have a flowing, professional blog.
Actually, you have enough material for a series of blogs if you were to research and lay out each connection and explain and reveal them slowly, like a flower progressively starting to bloom. Everybody likes a story that builds and leaves a lasting impression. Think slow motion. Picture your reader as the complete idiot and gear your explanations along those lines. At least that is my two pesos.

Hello Pedro and Robert,
I fully agree with Robert’s advice here, Pedro. You unleash a lot of knowledge – which of course is perfectly clear to you – on us to whom it is not all that clear immediately. I know, because I have been doing the exact same thing sometimes but fortunately there was Joshua who edited it.
Even for me, who also use the Hebrew alphabet and language to discover hidden meanings in the Bible, it is very difficult to follow what you write. Not because there is anything wrong with it but because you use another method which is unknown to me and it does not speak to me.
I have found it very beneficial to take only a few subjects at the time and to try to explain them as clearly as I could in the way Robert describes above. Chances are, you yourself learn new things when you do that as well. At least that is my experience.
Bable = Bible?? Bible really is the Greek Biblia which simply means books, all books, so that extends the reach somewhat. So the question is: Do books confuse? Possibly, but it also depends on the interpretation by the reader.
Destruction = creation. Death = birth? Interesting. I would say ‘= equals leads to’. Destruction and death are doors so to speak.
Well, that’s my two pesos (what’s wrong with cents?).
Love,
Anny

Hi Paul,
In addition to your comment about the translators being haphazard in the way that they translated the bible, 1 Tim 1:4 – 1-8 reads:
“Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do. Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling; Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm. But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;”
We use the misuse the law in many ways. This is why we have had more questions than answers. Scriptures as well as the commandments are not to be taken literally. This attest to the confusion we see in today’s world.
Paul says
Hi Babs:
I love this scripture, and it does capture the essence of this article — “godly edifying” and “charity out of a pure heart.” It gets to the “heart” of the matter. I completely agree with your comment, and thank a ton for it.

Hello Paul-Have been perusing your blog a most enlightening experience to say the least. I have been searching the scriptures for many years, and understand their esoteric nature, although I have attempted to find the hidden meanings, and failed time and time again.
I resorted to using a interlinear greek-english new testament for many years mainly due to finding numerous anomalies in the KJV due to the translators lack of knowledge re the esoteric nature.
This brings me to a scripture in the gospel of John, that I have read a thousand times–(Jn 4:24). the translators really messed up by adding two words that are not in the greek. (is a) God is not A SPIRIT, but SPIRIT Interesting to note that the New International version has got it right.
Thank you for your contribution.
Love and highest regards,
William (Bill).
Paul says
Hi there William.
This is actually Joshua Tilghman’s blog. I am merely a contributing writer (which I am thoroughly enjoying). 😀 He is doing a tremendous work here, and kudos to him for all his efforts.
You are absolutely correct! The “A” does NOT belong there. This actually accentuates the point of the article even more.
Which interlinear do you use? I use scripture4all.org. It is a very good one (although it does contain errors, as does the CLV, which, even so, is still light years ahead of the KJV). There also is, in the KJV, an EGREGIOUS use of the word “and” throughout. It is amazing the manner in which the scriptures are written, especially when you to to Rev. 22:18-19:
“(18) For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: (19) And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book. (Rev 22:18-19 KJV)
The addition of pronouns/conjunctions in some places completely obscure the meaning of the text. Alas, the translators had no idea what they were translating, and the importance of preserving, as much as possible, the meaning of the original text. Of course not! They had no idea what the meaning was. Unfortunately, we are the “beneficiaries” of their errors.
I believe the KJV to be one of the worst translations of the Bible out there.
Thanks again for your comment. It is much appreciated.
I am thrilled you are enjoying the blog.
anny says
Hi Paul,
I agree with you that the KJV might be one of the worst translations of the Bible. Unfortunately it is the only one I have. Even the English translation next to the Hebrew one in my Hebrew NT is the KJV.
I find it very difficult sometimes to understand what it means and a beautiful chapter like 1 Corinthians 13 does not convey this beauty to me at all. Charity being used instead of Love. In all other translations I have seen it has been translated as Love and I am sure in the Greek it must be the Agape (do you recognize it has the same root as the Hebrew Ahava or Ahaba as you write it?). If only I had not lost my Greek New Testament at some time.
I completely agree that it should not have been a spirit but I also started asking myself if it would be even possible to translate the ‘a’ into Greek if it had been a spirit. I do remember how to say the in Greek but nothing comes to mind as to a ‘a’.
Whatever it may be, I think we should not attach too much value to the actual wording of the Bible verses of the New Testament, as the handwritten copies of the Gospels, letters etc. were not considered holy writ in the beginning and have been copied and ‘improved’ over and over again. There also have been made lots and lots of alterations many times over in the manuscripts themselves and I have learned that there are more differences between the various (pieces of) of manuscripts still in our possion than there are words in the whole of the New Testament. And then we have said nothing about translations from these documents yet. Or about the fact that there are scholars who are of the opinion that the Greek manuscripts are also translations from Hebrew or Aramaic originals of which there are none left.
So I think it is good to look for the esoteric meaning hidden in the New Testament because that is the only way to get at truth (not even all the truth maybe).

Anny

Hi Anny.
Not sure if you’ve ever heard of blueletterbible.org (“BLB”). In my opinion, it is the best bible study tool on the Internet (Joshua uses eSword, and swears by it). I believe there are at least 20 different versions of the Bible on BLB, but the real power of it (for me anyway) is the Concordance feature. It uses Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance. I don’t use ANY of the Bible “helps” (dictionaries, lexicons, etc.) that it contains. I really don’t find them to be any help to me at all.
I primarily quote from the KJV in my work, but only because Strong’s is based on it. I’m always researching the correct interpretation of words, and always go back to the Interlinear for verification. The Interlinear I use is scripture4all.org. It is a great tool, as well. If you speak Hebrew, I think you will find it of immense value.
Much love, Sis.

Hi Paul,
No, I had never heard of it. Actually, I am very oldfashioned and just have a desk full of Bibles in different languages and dictionaries. But I’ll try out this internet study,if I can find my way around in it.
I thought you had to have access to a Concordance, the way you use bible quotes! I would not know where to find them.

Paul,
It seems to me that some believe that the “prophets,” “disciples”, etc. referred to in the bible are literal people and that Jerusalem, Judah, etc. are literal places. I, too, had a hard time breaking this habitual thinking. Yes, these are literal people and places, but not as it is used in scriptural messages or the bible rather. If one is to understand the spiritual teachings of the bible, we must understand that the bible is all allegory. Gal 4:21-26:
Gal 4:21
Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?
Gal 4:22
For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.
Gal 4:23
But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.
Gal 4:24
Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
Gal 4:25
For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.
Gal 4:26
But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
Again, the Bible decodes it’s own messages.
Paul says
Wow!! Very astute observation, Babs. You are absolutely correct. The Bible is all allegory, as you point out in Gal. 4:24. Most people don’t see that, especially because other versions (the NIV, for example), uses phrases like: “which things may be taken figuratively.” Not what this verse implies at all.
Thank so much for your very valuable contribution. It is much appreciated.

Joshua and Paul,
Paul responded to Robert talking about how ultimately we all have to look inside. I agree 100%. Please remember something. If it had not but for the grace of “GOD” that I stumbled on this blog and all of the articles I would still be running in the DARK.
Yes, I knew something was wrong with Orthodox Christianity and that is why I walked away 40 yrs ago. I had a keen interest in Hermeticism and the Kaballah. Both just got too close to the “GOD” thing, couldn’t deal with. Anything that even touched the subject sent me the opposite direction.
It wasn’t until this blog that I saw “GOD” in a whole new light. My minds eye was opened. How would I have ever know to look where I had been running 90 to nothing to get away from? I was running so fast that I stumbled fell flat on my face, looked up into the face of “GOD”.
Thanks to the WRITERS of this blog you have given me another chance. Did get that? Read that line again, Please. I have pulled out my Kaballah books, I have forgotten almost all I knew. I don’t even own a Bible, have downloaded one into my tablet. If just one person a year finds this blog and the light comes on or even begins to wonder, do you realize what you are? That makes you Fisher of Men.
Yes, Paul, ultimately I/we will have to look inside but at least NOW I know where to look and I can have that unspoken, heart felt talk, based on love with “GOD” .
You put ONE On the Path,
Cherie

Hi Cherie.
Thank you for your validation of what Josh is doing with this blog, and I’m just thrilled to be able to come along for the ride. I won’t presume to speak for him, except to say that I KNOW he has no intention of ceasing his writing.
My personal purpose for writing is to be a vessel that can “lead people to the Christ within” (i.e., to show others where Christ REALLY resides, and who Christ really is). Of course, all we can really do it “make the introduction.” Essentially, our job is complete at that point. The rest is merely sharing our alternative perspectives on what the Bible really says. Christ is a LIVING entity within you that is fully capable of “leading you where you are fully equipped to go” (to quote Wayne Dyer). In essence, we are more powerful than we ever dreamed imaginable.”
Thanks again for your consistent reminders that we are providing value. It provides fuel that feeds the Spiritofthescripture.com engine.

Cherie:
There is an old saying that goes, “when the student is ready, the master will appear.”
I can tell with 100% surety that you would have eventually found what you were seeking — whether here or elsewhere. The fact is, you were simply ready for the information and you attracted it to yourself. I am thrilled that it happened here, and that we are tools that the Universal Energy used to bring it to you, but it would have happened for you regardless. You were simply ready for it! You didn’t “stumble” upon the information. You brought it to yourself. This is the power of the Spirit within you. There are no coincidences, mistakes, etc. Everything is a reflection of what is in our hearts.
That says a lot about YOU, my dear.
Blessings.

All,
“Looking within” in the late 1960’s for college students meant doing LSD, mescaline, uppers, downers, pot, hash, peyote…I don’t remember the rest, and thank God I didn’t try them all. I think I took a right turn there, because everyone I knew then who took the left turn, even though they had sporadic experiences they referred to as higher consciousness, and may have even exhibited some forms of extra-sensory perception, got tremendously messed up. We have many safer and reliable forms of altering consciousness with no side effects. But they require discipline and working at it, instead of dropping a pill. Parts of the evolving church has learned to explore meditation, yoga, etc. But for many of us, the door into this was not part of our church curriculum. We seemed to have gotten nudged outside the church to find it. The internet is now the place to go looking. But I think sometimes I think it should have always belonged in the church, and if had been there earlier, the unstable alternatives like drugs may not have been so attractive.

Hi Anny,
I’m hip to your groove. Truth is one, paths are many. (I have a lot of room for growth in actually living this!) Whatever route you take at the base of the mountain, of them lead to the peak… As for the Babel-Bible connection, it’s just an idea to toy with. Either way the word is not the thing, merely a symbol, and the beauty of symbols is that they are not limited to a single, strait-jacket significance. This is why, for example, L. Frank Baum’s bio (and Denslow’s) makes a different but deeper meaning of the Wizard of Oz so interesting:
A spiral is an ancient symbol for transformation (think Elijah), in this case political transformation. Dorothy’s shoes in the 1900 book are silver, but due to omnicolor being released the same year as movie in 1939, red was chosen to better dazzle moviegoers. Yellow brick road is gold standard (oz = ounce), the road to prosperity. Silver slippers are symbol of free coinage of silver (Silverites). Silver and gold lead to emerald city = greenbacks, fiat currency – follow the “money” trail…The wizard, or man behind the curtain represents the bankers at the end of the road. (Wizard comes off as wise and noble until the curtain is drawn and his motivations discovered.) Dorothy is the young and naive American lost in the world of politics and economic policy (amusing themselves to death at this point). The lion, lacking courage, is the politicians, such as William Jennings Bryant and Roosevelt. The tin man, lacking a heart, represents U.S. industrialists. (The U.S. steel industry, among others, was losing to international competition.) Scarecrow is the American farmer “without a brain” who lets bankers determine the price of his crops and then votes to keep the bankers’ grimy political agents in office, contradicting his own interests. Wicked witches of east/west are the interests of each U.S. coast, organizing to control everything in between….An honest knowledge of American history is needed to see this, as is an understanding of what the ominous creation of the Federal Reserve on 12/23/1913 truly signifies. (Notice the date of the vote…) The Creature from Jekyll Island indeed…
Truth is far stranger than fiction!
Pedro
Paul says
I love your analogy of the Wizard of Oz, which, for my money, is the greatest movie ever written, and there is not even a close second.
Here’s my take on it:
Dorothy does indeed picture the lost soul. She gets hammered over the head by the effects of the winds and storms of adversity, and gets lost. She finds herself in a beautiful land, but a land that is not her own. The evil she finds herself facing are the obstacles that she must surmount if she is to make her way back home — the higher consciousness she “forgets.”
As she travels along her path, she must gain WISDOM (Scarecrow – Christ), LOVE (God – Tin Man) and Courage (Power – Christ – Lion). These are the friends every man MUST find along our path to “awakening.” Although these three friends THINK they are lacking these traits, they nevertheless display them at every turn along the way to Oz. They would not have made it to Oz without the display of these “fruits of the Spirit.”
Then they get to Oz. The “Wizard” (we often praise man as God) proves himself to be just an ordinary man, but he does something very extraordinary. He shows them that what they were looking for was already inside of them (this is the absolute limit of our POWER, but it is GREAT POWER!!). This is the power of the tongue. He gave them life by showing them their own power!!
Interesting that he could not accompany Dorothy back to her “promised land” (man can show you what’s inside you, but he can’t “take you home”). She would have to use her own power to do that. Alas, she had the power. She gained it when she conquered the first obstacle, which happened when her “house” (“house of God??”) fell on the witch when she arrived at her “destination.” She had it all along, but she didn’t know it. (The power — Christ — has ALWAYS been in us, but we haven’t known it.) What is really interesting is to note that she didn’t need the power until she got lost (she was blessed with the ruby red (silver, as you note) shoes upon her arrival).
This movie is deep WAAAAY beyond words. Thanks for revisiting it for us.

Good Morning Paul and Pedro,
My few scents here:
Pedro, I have read the analogy (quite some time ago) you presented here on The Wizard of Oz, and yes, that is indeed one way to view it, but I prefer to let the politicians and corporations to have that take on it.
It can certainly be an eye opener for us regular folk who are unaware of the politics we ingest in our daily lives and does indeed teach us much wisdom.
He was a phenomenal author and I am certain he had as much going on in his writings as you do in yours!! 🙂
I was wondering what your take on the poppy field is?
Paul, This is the analogy I have loved! and to me it certainly is all about FAMILY & LOVE, but there is also the dark side of interpretation, which can be found in many of the movies, books etc.
Thanks for that lovely memory of a Classic story and movie…
Watching that movie over the years many times, I always see something new and I imagine that is why it is broadcast so much, although this year I did not see it on any channels.
I have always taken the “mean witch” (west/night) and her minions to be vampires, energy thieves, trying to keep Dorothy and her crew paralyzed in fear and confusion (this is where weaving Pedro’s take is surely apparent).
Thanks to you both for sharing yours takes, although, I believe there is still more complex symbolism going on there with the great L Frank Baum.
“Over the Rainbow” song says it all, but that’s the sentimental in me…
Have a great day!

Sparks/Pedro:
Thanks for your comments. I didn’t know that my analogy of the Wizard of Oz was ever in print, as it is just my personal perspective of the movie, and I have never read it anywhere. I still look at it often, and like you, Sparks, I get something new out of it every time I view it.
You know, it’s interesting. The natural cannot understand the spiritual, and it is very possible (and something I believe very strongly) that Baum was inspired to write his book, and that even though he may have had one intention for his message, his spirit had quite another one.
“You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good.”
Not that he meant the book for evil, but the spiritual forces clearly (at least in my view) had another thought in mind than what he intended.

Hi Pedro,
I fully agree with you on the meaning of symbols. The spiral is indeed a very important one and of course also seen in nature and universe (galaxies). I do not see the connection to Eliah though. I have heard of form of a merkaba in regard to his ascension.
I did not know about the deeper meaning of the wizard of Oz. I do not really know much about it at all but I think that the origin of all ancient fairy tales might also lie in the realm of evolution of consciousness. It is very interesting though what you wrote about it.
So you see that everywhere there are these memory triggers that help us to get onto the road leading Home from whatever side we come. Fascinating.

Robert,
Thanks for the link to the Tao site! Gandhi said, “God has no religion.” Just as every river leads to the sea, all the world scriptures point to the ONE, and all of them repeat – some explicitly, others implicitly – Wake up man, and Know Thyself! If you enjoy the Tao give Heraclitus a gander: “No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.”
Regarding your comment on psychedelics and other substances, I have to disagree in so far as there is without doubt a time and a place for these, especially the entheogens, and it is one that has been prized for tens of thousands of years by humanity. (Manly P. Hall’s The Secret Teachings of All Ages is a must for any spiritual library and explains their use in all ancient Mystery Schools. Graham Hancock is good too.) I’m against anything synthetic, but as far as entheogens go, well “God saw that it was good.” And Genesis 2:9 says that “And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.” Hippocrates said, “Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food.” And Psalm 3:18 says “Wisdom is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her; and happy is every one that retaineth her.” Simple logic tells us that 1. God made ALL trees, vegetation, animals, minerals, etc. 2. God is Good and everything he creates is good by default, good=God. 3. Eating from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and dying are not just good things but essentials – life givers and life savers. The whole problem is that people think of death in a very narrow and childish way. God is life. People are hung up on a meaning of death that has been mauled and abused in a belief system that tells people the whole purpose of life is for what comes after “death.” Well, who told you you were alive? Death is a beautiful thing, but very misunderstood. Perhaps “that day you will truly die” simply means incarnate and suffer spiritual death as a divine spark trapped in an animal body rife with strange and often insane passions and appetites in a world that is truly upside down. Maybe the body is indeed a cell, a tomb, a lion’s den, a whale’s belly, Lower Egypt, Babylon, a labyrinth, Hades, Sheol, darkness, ignorance, the ground into which the seed is planted, resurrecting only after a death that casts off the shell…Maybe the Christ child in the manger is fodder for the animals (lower nature) surrounding it. Maybe this is why the shepherd, leaving behind the 99 goes and searches for the stray in the wilderness, lifting it up to higher nature, thus redeeming and sublimating it. Lazarus, come forth!
Do a search on the Court of the Pine at the Vatican (it’s the largest of it’s kind in the world). When you see it note the two ibises on either side, which of course are the same symbols as Adam and Eve as depicted on either side of the Tree and snake, Samson and the two pillars, Solomon’s Temple with Boaz and Jachin though which every initiate must pass (any Masonic temple entrance), Mercy and Severity in cabalistic Tree of Life, the two thieves flanking Jesus, ida and pingala… Also look at the “fun” fountains in front of St. Peter’s Basilica. Check out Joshua’s posts on Michelangelo’s message left in the Creation of Adam and the Eye of Horus. The “pine cone” is everywhere throughout time – Americas, Europe, Egypt, Greece, India, China, Sumeria…
Though I can’t prove this, I’ve heard many times that the most widely-read article every churned out by National Geographic is Peru: Hell and Back by Kira Salak. I’ve spent many months in the Amazon and I can tell you that Genesis 32:31 and Matthew 6:22 mean more to me than words can describe. It’s all in plain site. I can’t help but smile every time I see the Caduceus or Rod of Asclepius on an ambulance…
Ride the snake and eat your apples. (What do you think Steve Jobs was telling you with his very logo?)

Pedro,
Thanks for another impressive download. The problem with entheogens in the United States is that they were abused. People ended up with irreversible brain damage. There are walking zombies from the 60s and 70s, some of whom managed to lead successful lives, but their brain and motor functions remained somewhat out of whack. We can joke about what the High Priest inhaled in the incense before entering the Holy of Holies, but the fact is the OT warns about two junior priests who were put to death for drunkenness and sexual perversion in the course of their duties, and the NT warns about being drunk instead of filled with the Holy Spirit. This does not just apply to alcohol. But I will grant you, this kind of abuse is different than the disciplined and infrequent use of entheogens by skilled shamans. Even some synthetics are still used for therapeutic applications in very controlled and guided environments. God who created both magic mushrooms and hemlock looked down on them and saw that they were good, but not necessarily for human consumption.
Robert says
Pedro,
I take the position of the Holotropic Brearthwork movement, even though I am not in it. They emerged from the Hippie drug experience and switched to natural means for therapy and spiritual enhancement. They did not just do it because of prohibition. The lure of recreational drugs appeals to the lower physical plane. Most drugs block nerve agent receptors, causing an imbalance that might result in an unusual experience, for better or worse. Continued use causes irreversible changes in nerve structure in order to compensate. Brain scans reveal permanently degraded areas of the brain from continued use, sometimes from even one time use. Anyone with ADD, depression, or bipolarity is asking for trouble, since the bad effects are more dramatic, and can permanently intensify the brain imbalance Some of the natural psychedelics are products of evolution, which have resulted in hardier strains of plants that produce toxins to ward of predators. Some of these toxins produce hallucinations, stomach aches, and other side effects. The alkaloids are some of the worst in causing hard core addictions. Addiction blinds the intellect and intuition to the detrimental effects and risks, and distorts judgment. Besides that, there is the exploitation aspect. In addition there and the moral dilemma of people who have ignored laws and sound advice to access the drug induced states… if they do learn to use the supernatural for selfish purposes (the dark side).
On the non-drug side, Brain scans have mapped out the changes that occur during non-drug induced altered states. They are not harmful. They are generally reversible.

Good grief, Pedro!! You’ve got some pretty deep stuff going on in your comment. Lots to chew on.
Let me add my two cents (Pesos???) to it. 😉
I completely agree that the death spoken of in Scripture is spiritual death. The parable of the Prodigal Son makes this clear. “For this my son was dead, and is alive. Was lost, and now is found” (Luke 15:24; 32). To be dead spiritually is simply to be lost. “Blessed in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints” (Ps. 116:15), and “it is appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judgment. This is what Christ was saying to Peter in Matt. 16:21-23. I MUST die, or YOU won’t live.
Excellent!!!
I see trees in scripture are metaphoric of the various stages of man, with Christ (the vine) as the highest stage. We are the branches, and the fruit of the trees symbolize the words that come out of our mouths. Thus, the “fruit” of the tree of life symbolize the fruit of the spirit, or the words of life. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” “Every idle word that men speak they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.” The “blood of Christ” represents the fruit of the Spirit. A vine (Christ) bears the branches (man) that produces the grapes (fruit = words out of mouth) that produces the wine (fermentation — patiently bearing our crosses while the grapes ferment). Christ’s blood is the blood of grapes, or fruit of the spirit.
(23) And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. (24) And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. (Mar 8:23-24 KJV)
The body is indeed a tomb. We are the “earth” of Genesis, and thus, WE are the land in which the Christ lay dead for three days and three nights.
“(9) For [there is] no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part [is] very wickedness; their throat [is] an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue. (Psa 5:9 KJV)
(13) Their throat [is] an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps [is] under their lips: (Rom 3:13 KJV)
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat its FRUIT.
<>
Absolutely!! He comes to die. It is the wild animals (the beasts of the field — “men whose teeth are spears and whose tongues are sharp swords” – Ps. 57:4) that kill him. He comes for that express purpose — to be fodder for the beasts of the field. I love it!!!
All in the name of L-O-V-E-!-!-!
Amazing post, Pedro. Thanks a ton for sharing it.

All,
I may have this wrong, but I have the exchange rate as 1 dollar US = 0.07 pesos. If I convert dollars to cents and divide by pesos, and finally give up and ask my retired school teacher wife, , this comes out to 1 pesos equal to about 14 cents. So when you folks add your two pesos, you are actually adding your 28 cents. This is 14 times as much as adding your two cents. That explains why some of your comments are as long as the original blog. Also, the number 14 is very significant as Anny has explained. I have not yet found the exchange rate between pesos and scents, but my intuition tells me that scents are as subtle as a centavo and more valuable than a brick of gold.

Paul,
Quite a bit to contemplate. I’m getting a better idea where you’re coming from. How do you define life and death? If the price of wisdom is death, clearly death is very good indeed. I’ll ask you as well – who told you that you’re alive? The word “person” as we have it today is derived from the Greek prosopon and the Latin persona. Both of them mean mask. Person means mask. As an English mystic once wrote, All the world’s a stage. “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels.” – 2 Corinthians 4:7. Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily…
As for the Wizard of Oz, while I can clearly see where you’re coming from, I think it’s necessary to look into the author’s life in order to get a better understanding of the mind that produced the tale. L. Frank Baum was a political activist throughout the 1890s with a keen interest in monetary policy. He lived in the Dakotas during the Wounded Knee massacre and when Sitting Bull was killed by the feds, writing some sardonic but telling articles about the horrific and deliberate destruction of the Native Americans by the white man he has witnessed firsthand. (The flying monkeys are clear symbols of the Native Americans upon any inspection of their plaintive dialogue in the book.) Baum was an advocate for women’s suffrage, he and his wife hosting Susan B. Anthony in their home when the latter visited South Dakota. Perhaps this is why Uncle Henry isn’t the star but Dorothy…
Look at the First Bank of the U.S. and how it came about in 1791, and what happened when its 20 year charter was set to expire. Then what happened in 1834 to Jackson when he made it clear he was determined to “kill the bank” by refusing to renew the charter in 1836. Jefferson said, “A private central bank issuing the public currency is a greater menace to the liberties of the people than a standing army.” On the flip side, Mayer Amschel Rothschild said, “Give me control of a nation’s money and I care not who makes the laws.” What happened to Lincoln when he refused to submit to the Bank’s usury and decided to print greenbacks to finance his war. The panics of 1837, 1857, 1873, 1893. Remember the 49ers in San Francisco, the Nevada silver rush, the silver standard in 19th century Europe…
Read about fractional reserve banking and ask yourself why our money, every dollar of it borrowed into existence, says “legal tender” instead of lawful tender. There is a big difference. We all know that Ecclesiastes says “There is nothing new under the sun, what has been will be again.” Read closely Joseph’s land policy in Genesis 47. While in one way it is symbolic of Joseph conquering the ego (Egypt) and coming to rule over it, note that it’s clear Joseph is acting as an economist (Fed chairman?) for the privately owned House of Pharaoh (Federal Reserve?). What might “seeds” be? Who are these “priests” whose land Joseph doesn’t acquire? (Corporate moguls, politicians, intelligentsia?) What is the nature of the 16th amendment and the IRS? Think about it – how can the “people” benefit as a whole by every one of the “people” being robbed individually? Do you really think anyone knows how to spend or invest your money better than you? Joseph’s policy is one of state-controlled wealth distribution. What would happen in the U.S. if China called in the debt or a “famine” hit? Who is behind the movement to buy up gold that’s been underway for a number of years now?
But most important, think about why Thomas Paine would have chosen passages from Judges 8 and 1 Samuel 8 in his pamphlet Common Sense, the best-selling and most widely-circulated publication in American history per capita. “You cannot serve God and mammon.” As I noted earlier, Truth is the only authority, yet today we’ve conflated all authority figures with truth. We’ve abdicated our free will and reason to a tiny but powerful cartel with vested interests diametrically opposed to the average citizen – a cartel that bombards you with bugaboos without respite by means of a privately owned media in the business of selling audiences to advertisers. (The people who sell you iPods, Oreos and Toyotas are the same people who sell you Obamas and Romneys.) Nationalism has become the religion in the U.S., and patriotism its cult. Is there any worse insult, any epithet more ignoble than anti-American? God forbid…
“But when they said, “Give us a king to lead us,” this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the Lord. And the Lord told him: “Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king. As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you. Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will claim as his rights.”
– 1 Samuel 8
Reminds me of the taut implications in this phrase by Walter S. Miller from A Canticle for Leibowitz:
“That’s where all of us are standing now, he thought. On the fat kindling of past sins. And some of them are mine. Mine, Adam’s, Herod’s, Judas’s, Hannegan’s, mine. Everybody’s. Always culminates in the colossus of the State, somehow, drawing about itself the mantle of godhood, being struck down by the wrath of Heaven. Why? We shouted it loudly enough–God’s to be obeyed by nations as well as men. Caesar’s to be God’s policeman, not His plenipotentiary successor, nor His heir. To all ages, all peoples. –“Whoever exalts a race or a State or a particular form of the State or the depositories of power…whoever raises these notions above their standard value and divinizes them to an idolatrous level, distorts and perverts an order of the world planned and created by God…..” Where had that come from? Eleventh Pius, he thought, without certainty… But when Caesar got the means to destroy the world, wasn’t he already divinized? Only by the consent of the peopel–same rabble that shouted: “Non habemus regem nisi caesarem,” when confronted by Him–God Incarnate, mocked and spat upon.”
“It has been reliably established that from 1933 to 1945 millions of innocent people were systematically slaughtered on command. Gas chambers were built, death camps were guarded, daily quotas of corpses were produced with the same efficiency as the manufacture of appliances. These inhumane policies may have originated in the mind of a single person, but they could only have been carried out on a massive scale if a very large number of people obeyed orders…The disappearance of a sense of responsibility is the most far-reaching consequence of submission to authority.” – Stanley Milgram
“If a slave can be convinced that he should be a slave, that his enslavement is both proper and legitimate, that he is the rightful property of his master and that he has an obligation to produce as much as possible for his master, then he does not need to be physically oppressed. In other words, enslaving the mind makes enslaving the body unnecessary. And that is exactly what the belief in “authority” does: it teaches people that it is morally virtuous that they surrender their time, effort and property, as well as their freedom and control over their own lives, to a ruling class…The most potent weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed.” – Larken Rose
The curtain must be drawn and the Wizard thrown down, the veil must be torn, in order to see things as they truly are…

As a butterfly emerges from her finely woven chrysalis, slowly opening her wet wings to the gentleness of the air that will guide and carry her, she is supported by the leftover remnants of the life she will leave behind.
She dries, she cries, then waits…
Strength gathers from what she’s consumed, she will not fly a moment too soon
Warmth spreads through her wings she is told…

Pedro, you bring up a wonderful point when you speak about giving up to an authority. Sovereignty of Self is the greatest truth that a person can learn, without it God cannot be found.
Justin says
Pedro,
I agree with what you have been posting here, real good stuff in my book. Additionally, you have gotten my mind working on connections that i previously thought were non-existent. I never dreamed of looking at my political views and comparing them to my spiritual views. I had been staying out of political talks because i had come to see it as meaningless in the larger view of things. However, I was wrong in that. The truth of matter is that giving over your sovereignty to another, be it an external God or another man, removes you from ever being able to experience the true nature of being one with God and forming the Christ. How could I have been so blinded to not see the connection?!
I will go so far as to even say that we cannot even submit ourselves to Love, meaning become enslaved to do its bidding, instead we must become Love (big difference submission to love means that our lower selves are still in control but is choosing to be loving, becoming Love means our actions are loving without thought in the process, it can only occur after the Crucifixion of the lower self) and in doing so the fruit of mouths will not be from some ideal but rather from ourselves.
Paul says
Hi Pedro.
We are immensely powerful souls. I would define death as lack of the ability to manifest that power, or what the scriptures call “the abomination that causes desolation.” To be desolate is to be devoid of power. The abomination is “worshipping” man rather than “worshipping” God. Worship is not a big word. It merely means to “ask.” The reason we have no power is because we are looking for it in the wrong places. It is inside of us, and that’s what it means to “know God and Christ” (John 17:3). The power to love, the power to heal (even our physical infirmities), the power to forgive, the power to “give life to the dead and call those things that be not as though they were,” (Rom. 10:17) are all available to us, but we must use our adversities for their intended purpose, which is to wake up that power within us, i.e., to wake up the Christ. In the story of Jesus in the boat with his disciples, the storms and winds (adversities) were raging and Jesus was sleeping. They woke him up out of sleep and he immediately stilled the storm. This is OUR power. The story is about us.
As far as being a “person,” I have a bumper sticker on my truck that says, “we are spiritual beings having a physical experience.” Our flesh is merely a vehicle to transport us through this linear existence — a “costume.” It’s not who we are. Physical existence is like Halloween, and we wear our various and sundry costumes in order to play the game. And I believe that’s all this physical life really is. A game! We come here merely to experience. We’re perfect before we come here, and perfect after we leave, so what do we really come here for? I believe it is all just a cosmic play.
I believe we all come here merely to experience what we cannot experience in our natural states. “What does it feel like to die?” “What does it feel like to be an imperfect being?” In our natural state we can never understand these things, because there is no death and there is no imperfection in the spiritual world, so we come here merely to experience what these things feel like. We come here to spend a day at Great Adventure. Relative to eternity, this physical life lasts only a few seconds, so I believe we come to the amusement park for a little while, and when we are tired of “playing,” we go back home.
Of course, I cannot prove any of this. This just constitutes my own personal views. Everything that happens on this plane is just part of the overall game, including the savagery of the animal kingdom, the terrorism in our world, the most heinous of crimes we commit against each other, etc. God is not unjust. We just come here to experience the “unexperienceable” (I think I’ll register that word) 😉 on the spiritual plane. Sure, there are laws that govern life on this plane, but they are relative ONLY to this plane.
Of course, in our physical states, all of this feels sooooo real. But it is ALL an illusion. It is ALL “Maya.” We are perfect beings and will ALWAYS remain that way. Spirit cannot die. When spirit sheds these physical bodies, we go back to the perfection that defines our eternal existence.
That’s my 1/2 Peso.
anny says
Hi Paul,
I agree with you for 100% on all this. It is so good to remind ourselves that all this is not real. It is just a dream we are dreaming and a game we are playing. Only we keep forgetting it, so it is so good to be reminded of it again and again!
Love,
Anny

Josh,
The more we do this blog, the more I begin to think the esoteric path is like one big Rorschach test. Sometimes I’m not sure our subconscious speaks to us through the patterns we imagine, or something mysterious that is partly deep within us brings these patterns out of the dust into life.
Sparks says
Robert,
Personally, I am in the present heart/mind set that the subconscious is gaining a higher power, thus it is not only speaking to us through both of your acknowledgements, but also through and with the many layers/energy of love.
Like a flowing stream of various layers of love, albeit where the thoughts are, there one will be, as the subconscious continues to strengthen through Love, it becomes drawn into the higher layer.
Its like, hey, what do I know about love?
Open the heart chakra and the subconscious becomes engaged, starting its journey through the various layers of love. As the energy is heightened/raised up, it flows out of one and into the universal flow.
Volunteers are needed!
make sense?

Robert,
I believe both can be true and are. Remember, consciousness is moving, evolving, experiencing in each instant. Sometimes what we see for ourselves through symbol and myth transforms us according to our former experiences even if others do not see the same symbol or image. That is the true power in myth!
Robert says
Josh,
I might want to read a book or article about being transformed by myth. Maybe you can recommend one.
Sparks says
Robert,
I believe Josh may suggest Joseph Campbell, he spent his entire life devoted to discovering and researching Myth.
I have a few of his books here and they are fantastic, you can also find much of his work in the archives, you tube if you are not up to reading…a good start would be here.

To me he is foremost on the topic and I do think Josh would agree.

Robert says
Josh,
I think my experience in trying to write screenplays two years ago introduced me to the idea that stories often follow specific patterns like the dramatic arc, the hero’s journey, and arch type characters. I discovered how writing and reading stories engages the subconscious and can elevate or de-elevate consciousness. I began to see these patterns in bible stories, and am vaguely aware of them in other religions, like the Egyptian legend of Osiris. It fascinates me, and I would like to learn more about the power of myths and their similarities and trends.

(A) Howdy fans. I bet you’ve always wondered about slaying the Jabberwocky. Can it be done? Well, you won’t find out how in any text book. There is a secret they don’t teach you in school. And in a minute, I’m going to tell you, but first a word from our sponsor.
(B) Oooooooooommmmmmm
(C) I told you it was going to be “a” word. Now, back to the Jabberwocky, Believe it or not there is no such thing as a physical Jabberwocky, no archeological evidence that a Jabberwocky ever existed. It is the allegory of the slaying of the Jabberwocky that is meaningful to us today. Each of us must wake up from our illusionary sleep and let our inner slayer, our primordial chipmunk, the “Alvin”do its thing. It’s character, not size, that counts, right Alvin? Alvin? Where is Alvin? Oh well, getting back to topic, the Alvin doesn’t need any instructions. Just some space to work. And leave your fears behind. It’s simple, just let go and leave it to the Alvin. Next, we have to …..
(D) And and as the chipmunk said, that’s it in a nutshell. Tune in next time when we discuss dismembering the Jabberwocky with love. And reemember, “Stay in the light to do it right”. Cheers.

Having had no prior experience in radio presentation (albeit some in public speaking), “presenting” it is a trait that I must learn. I love your example here, and appreciate the compliment in the OP (which I neglected to mention in my original reply). Sounds like you have much experience in presenting. You seem to be a natural.
Pedro says
Hi Justin, Laurie, Cherie!! I’m glad some of you have found wholesome food for thought in my rhapsodies. And a big thanks to Joshua, his fellow writers and the whole community here. This is a great site to tune into and get turned on.
Robert,
That’s some pretty heavy stuff above, some of which I have little to no knowledge about. While my opinions surely differ, it is only because of the adventures I’ve taken through this magical world of infinite wonder where fear is the only thing to fear.
What’s an addiction, and why are some tolerated while others prohibited? Clearly caffeine, sugar and chocolate – all of which are consumed in titanic quantities daily by Americans – alter human consciousness and have detrimental effects on overall health in no small number of people. Yet we’ve erected enormous and profitable industries around these substances and made them almost as prevalent as Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid. (Perhaps because they alter consciousness in a way more in tune with a “workaholic” society that is frighteningly left-brained and enthralled by gadgetry that is so powerful it is redefining what it means to be human.) I can’t imagine why diabetes, ADD and obesity are all epidemics… And need I mention the boob tube? That is the world’s very worst narcotic, hands down. Talk about gateway drug. Think about it – people arrange their living room according to where the oracle/idiot box sits, so they can gather round and collectively subject themselves to a droning monologue rife with subliminal messages, sex, violence and incessant noise. If you still have one, unplug it now, open a window and throw that thing out. They don’t call it programming because you program it…
Whether it’s called Sheol, hell, Hades, Lower Egypt, the dark night of the soul, crucifixion, the night sea journey, the adversary, Satan or whatever, the unconscious/subconscious must be conquered and yes, YHWH-Elohim has placed certain plants here that can aid this quest. As Joseph Campbell said, “If you find yourself in deep water, become a diver.” He also said that the cave you fear to enter hold the treasure you seek. Think about Luke Skywalker when he’s with Yoda enduring his Jedi trials and they come upon the cave. Luke asks what’s inside, to which Yoda responds, “Only what you take with you. Your weapons…you will not need them.” Luke takes his gear anyway (FEAR) and lo and behold who does he encounter? And is it really a surprise that he sees his own face under Vader’s mask once he slays him? Fear cannot be fought, only faced. Psychedelics can do just this, but only to those willing to take the plunge and confront the deepest, darkest tunnels of their psyche one on one. You’re Theseus AND the Minotaur…and Adriadne…
Just because there is no shortage of people who use powerful, mind-altering substances for recreational purposes and suffer serious side-effects or consequences for not giving them the respect they deserve doesn’t mean the substances are “bad”. Intention is EVERYTHING. I can eat my dinner with a fork and I can poke someone’s eye out with the same utensil. Does that make the fork bad? As G.K. Chesterton said, “The word good has many meanings. For example, if a man were to shoot his grandmother at a range of five hundred yards, I should call him a good shot, but not necessarily a good man.” As for something like ayahuasca, there’s a reason it is indigenous to the Amazon, for set and setting are also crucial. The primordial atmosphere, the jungle wilds teeming with life and thrumming with sound, the prayers to Father and Mother Earth, the rituals, the pungent odor of mapacho (tobacco) in the air…the songs of the shaman serenading mother ayahuasca as his ancestors did thousands of years ago, the shaking of the chacapa and the hypnotic trance as the medicine opens you up and shows you how she knows you better than you know yourself, disgorging all the spiritual rubbish that has collected in your bodies from time immemorial and tearing it out of you with a violent but loving purge that spills all the ugly tenants residing in the bowels of your mind, heart and soul…all in a small thatch hut beneath the starry heavens in the warm embrace of Mother Nature…
Steve Jobs said LSD was one of the most important things he ever did in his life. Francis Crick was tripping on acid when he discovered the double-helix structure of DNA. Think of Aldous Huxley, Terrance McKenna, Graham Hancock, Ken Kesey, Ram Dass, John Lennon…The studies on psilocybin at Johns Hopkins…Shamanism is the oldest profession in the world, not prostitution…Think different. Jesus calls everyone to a perpetual psychological death and resurrection. This is true creation. As Isaiah says, “I will do a new thing.”
I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together!
Pedro
Laurie says
Pedro, that really spoke to me and is so true. It seems we always try to Judge a thing with our Ego/lower mind. I believe there is a difference between judgement and discernment. We can’t see something as it truly IS in our Ego/lower mind. “To everything there is a Season and a time to every purpose Under heaven”.
So many people try to change their Seasons and purpose with the lower mind– or lie to themselves about the season and purpose. It totally gets out of balance. We all have experienced that. Good or Bad? That’s how we tend to see things instead of just letting them “Be”. Everything has a purpose and everything has a season.
Illegal drugs are bad, prescription drugs are Good. Really? Neither are good nor bad. I have seen both used for Good and both used for Bad. It had nothing to do with the drugs, themselves, but rather trying to manipulate the “Season” and “Purpose” under Heaven. Which would be our seat of awareness, eh?
I’m not eloquent with words, like you are, but I totally “Get” what you are saying and it’s been what I have been observing myself.
Paul says
Great comment, Laurie!
Along these lines, love is not something we can try to do. I believe it is something that we become. When we have been transformed (i.e., when the blindness has been healed and we see who we really are), love will come naturally, because at our core (spirit), it is what we are.
As the saying goes, “the Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao” (I believe I’ve seen that quote in this string, as well).
To “try” is to fail. Transform and the change is automatic. Don’t try, just be.
You put it very well, my dear. I thought it was pretty eloquent.
anny says
Hi Paul and Laurie,
There is nothing wrong with your eloquence, Laurie. You put things very clearly indeed.
I agree with you Paul about being love. However, when you say: to try is to fail, I am not so sure. Maybe try out is a better term. When you all at once get so many new powers, you have to try them out before being fully at ease with them I think. They may come naturally but in the beginning it is rather awesome and you have to feel your way into them as it were. That is how I experience these gifts I have received anyhow. I feel my way into something and sometimes I just get it wrong. But that teaches me something again for the next time. I think with being love it is the same. I know I am but I still get it wrong sometimes and act in ways that are not loving. Well, then I just stand up and am love again.
Love,
Anny
Laurie says
Paul, YES!!! 🙂 Doing is not being. You can BE and DO (as a part of being) but you can’t Do and BE. The world has it backwards, trying to prove Love in Judgement/Lower Ego mind, by Doing. You can’t. Love just IS. Scrape away the Ego and that’s what we truly are. 🙂 Dare I say, LOVE is beyond any judgement. You can’t Judge yourself into Love. One is Ego/lower mind and the other is Spirit and truth.
I am seeing myself and others so very differently now. Scraping away the Ego and peeking behind the veil. I see LOVE. It was always there, I just didn’t see it because I was busy DOING and Not BEING.
Laurie says
Anny, I agree with you about the “To try is to fail”. Again, that would be a judgement thing, wouldn’t it? It would be not looking at it as is IS.
I don’t see things as fail or pass or good or bad. “All thing works for the Good to those who love God and are called according to his purpose”. I don’t see things as missing the mark at all. It was what was needed for the journey/Ascension at that time.
In the “Church” I felt so much Judgement. Now? I don’t feel that at all. What I formerly saw as “missing the mark” I now see as enlightenment and I feel AWE. It’s like “WHOA, so THAT is what was really going on with me…or THAT was what was happening”. It’s not a pass fail thing, nor a judgement thing. I now can see it through the eyes of Love and it’s awe and wonder. Did that make any sense? I catch myself not out of judgement and fear, but out of love. Truly, there is no greater freedom!!
Sometimes it takes longer then other times with me, but it’s all a part of the Journey! 😉 I get what you are saying.

Pedro,
With all respect, we will have to agree to disagree on entheogens. Have you watched the Star Trek episodes I recommended? They are free on TV.com, but have a lot of commercials. Popular use of these and associated drugs causes a lot more medical harm than the soft addictions of TV, etc., and are up there with nicotine addiction, which is still legal and one heck of a problem. I was an undergraduate during the Ken Kesey, Timothy Leary era when they led a generation off the cliff like the pied piper. I watched what happened to my class-mates and friends who got swept up. There was not one person I knew who experimented more than once with drugs that didn’t end up a mess a year or two later. Turn on, tune in, burn out. I knew when the damage was done by the way they started to communicate in rapid, fragmented, chatter box ideas, jumping from one topic to another without going in to any depth. As for Francis Crick:
“In the book “Francis Crick: Discoverer of the Genetic Code”, Ridley wrote:
I am frequently asked for my opinion on the speculation that Francis Crick was on LSD when he discovered the double helix; or that he was involved with a man named Dick Kemp in the manufacture of LSD. These assertions were reported second hand in an article in the Mail on Sunday by Alun Rees following Crick’s death and they have since gained a certain amount of traction on the internet. Both stories are wrong. The true story, which I was told directly by Crick’s widow and by the man who (as his widow confirms) first supplied the Cricks with LSD, is much less sensational. Crick was given (not sold) LSD on several occasions from 1967 onwards by Henry Todd, who met the Cricks through his girlfriend. Todd did know Kemp, with whom he was eventually prosecuted, but the Cricks did not. As for the implausible idea that the then impoverished and conventional Crick would have had access to LSD when it was newly invented in the early 1950s, there is simply no evidence for it at all. Those who wish to argue that LSD helped Crick make discoveries should note that all his major breakthroughs in molecular biology were made before 1967. ”
Pedro, check out this article by a brain scan specialist who runs a clinic trying to rehabilitate “burn outs”. http://www.amenclinics.com/about-us-23/the-science-2/spect-gallery/item/alcohol-and-drug-abuse.
Nicotine was proven to increase the learning capacity for rats to navigate through a maze, but also destroyed their health. Its not worth it. Cigarettes are the worst man-made health disaster in history.
Meditation has been shown to improve creativity. Why take the dark road when there is light?
The dark road feeds the ego. People I knew who did drugs developed the most intricate but sophomoric rationalizations for the habit. They were flunking out scholastically, but when it came to defending their ego-driven habit, they could get on a soap box and preach for hours.
I also know people who have harmed others emotionally and psychologically because they were addicts in a position of power. They talked the talk about idealism and consciousness, but they were ravenous wolves in sheep’s clothing. Many of them were not even aware of what their ego-driven subconscious was doing. That is partly why I care so much about this. I see the damage they did and the champions they could have been if only they knew.
The last person I knew with a problem was a space cadet who believed aliens had encoded DMT into the DNA of certain plants to guide our civilization into enlightenment before they would make contact with us. I tried to befriend and help him. It didn’t stick. We worked together at the same business and I was constantly bringing his mind back to earth so he could focus on his job. We were going to keep in touch, but he moved away and I haven’t heard from him, and he doesn’t return my email.
The scriptures say “Chose this day whom you will serve”. We can serve the ego or the divine. Two may speak the same words and walk in opposite paths.
Justin says
Robert,
You make a good point on this topic. Abuse will drive of any substance will drive you mad. I think the point Pedro is trying to make about entheogens is not that won’t cause damage if abused, and any form of recreational use of an entheogen is abuse (my opinion there), but that when used correctly they can aid us in our transition. I know plenty of people, myself being one, that have used entheogens and had experiences that made them question the truth that had been feed to them there whole lives. That questioning made them begin a search for something greater, it made them want to know the truth about God. On the same hand, I know people who have used entheogens and become mad from it. They lost touch with who they were in the midst of the experience, they went into seeking a fun time (against many warning) and found a hell they could not escape. My point here is that intent is the key. If you are trying to use anything to escape life and as substitute for spiritual work/a shortcut then it will become a problem and hinder you. However, if it used to help you answer a question that cannot be answered elsewhere it can be helpful. The key is to know when to you have looked everywhere else.
Also, you say that TV addiction is soft compared to the damage caused by doing entheogens. However, if you examine the current generation entering adulthood, my generation, you will see that the TV has caused far more damage than anything else. It provides escape from thought, it feeds the mind and soul poisons of materialism, vanity, and pride. I have seen people who had seeming lost there ability to think critically about anything and could only spew what they saw on TV become happy, charming, intelligent people because they gave up TV for Lent.
When I was young, my father told me to be most wary of the things you deem harmless. They are what will hurt you the most.

Justin,
Thank you for your feedback. I agree that some psychedelics under careful conditions can be helpful in releasing the mind from old patterns and open for a time to establishing new attitudes. There is nothing mysterious about it. It has been documented in peer-reviewed scientific journals. It is an advance compared to old style electric shock therapy. It is applied when more conventional techniques are ineffective for an individual. This is designed for short term therapy followed up by professional counseling, not for continued use. If your mind becomes receptive to new ideas and the new ideas around you are garbage, you will become receptive to garbage. So I do not advise going tripping with the Hell’s Angels. I cannot stress enough being cautious. And as long as there are now mind opening techniques that do not interact chemically with your brain receptors, there is no need to jump on the Ken Kesey’s bus
to Further, when the odds are in favor of you then finding yourself underneath it. At least the effects of TV are fully reversible. I don’t know anyone who has given up crack or LSD for Lent.
Drugs were used by underground political activist groups in the 60s and 70s to promote a counterculture against the Viet Nam War. It did not just happen. it was pre-meditated hookery, political prostitution. I agree with the ends, but not the means. It caused a lot more problems than it solved, and America is still recovering from drug abuse and a culture looking for kicks, not self-awareness. This was the dark path. I am familiar with the slogans of the times, the counterculture dogma, the enticements to dive deep into it if you are superior enough to handle it. Sounds like Nazi ubermench propaganda. This was not something I was interested in reading yesterday, The 69th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. Excuse me if my knees are jerking.
The same problem exists today with gun control and is now epidemic. A minority of pleasure seekers with power and influence, who love their toys more than us, are putting us all at risk and lying about the risks. You can’t shop at the mall, go to the movies, or go to school without watching your back.
It does not seem to matter if you confront these people with fact checking. They are not listening.

Laurie,
You hit the nail on the head regarding this penchant for attaching a label of “good” and “bad” to everything. I think it’s part of our culture’s crude obsession with Manichaeism and it’s inability to realize that the Church (Peter’s successors) invented a geographical heaven and tossed Jesus up there 2000 years ago and then invented the devil so that the real Satan could operate undisturbed. In my experience religious people are far more judgmental than spiritual people. Dogma is dangerous. Think about it: if the Church told people the truth, that when it comes to the Bible you should read it as de te fabula narratur. Every character in that book is a state of consciousness. All of them are YOU.
You might like a book Erich Fromm wrote called To Have or to Be.

Paul,
Your description of “the game” is beautiful. I agree with you wholeheartedly. Have you ever wondered if the reason all babies are born crying is because they know from where they’ve traveled and what a pain in the neck it is for a soul to be cooped up in a bag of flesh and bones? The body truly is an instrument, the mask housing the soul with its command center in the brain.
Unlike the eastern religions that talk about each soul being like a drop of water to be lost in an infinite sea of ONE, I believe each soul is more akin to a spark deriving from the ONE eternal fire. For a mere spark is enough to ignite a blaze and spread the purifying flames in all directions…

Laurie says
Pedro, I’m the Mother of 4 sons and the Grandmother of 7 grandchildren. I’ve looked at all those newborn babies and have seen the Wisdom of the Universe in them. Then, I see it fall off of them with each day from birth. Truly, our Journey is to remember from where we came. It feels more like I am remembering, then learning. That’s what I have been experiencing with all these comments in these threads. They connect. I’m remembering.
anny says
Hi Laurie,
I can relate to that. I have four children also, three sons and one daughter, and three grandchildren sofar but that can change literally any minute as we are on stand by to take our daughter in law to the hospital for the birth of our fourth grandchild. He does not seem all that enthusiastic about being born though and has had us on tenterhooks for quite some time already.
I remember this look of wisdom, and also of recognition, from my second granddaughter over six years ago. It did not last although for quite some time we noticed that she, and her elder sister also, saw things or people we could not see. They were old enough to answer our questions about it then but young enough not to be surprised that the grown ups did not see them. At ages 9 and 6 they do not remember or see themselves anymore.
Our five month old grandson in Vietnam we have never seen yet, so with him we miss this stage, but the other one will make up for it as he will live almost around the corner. I am so much more aware of this now than I was nine years ago though.
Love,
Anny

Anny, YES!!!! Some children can “hold on” longer then others. Some, lose it quickly. I know exactly what you are talking about.
Robert says
I wonder if this is related to studies of children remembering past lives, but fading after about 5 The research is controversial.
Laurie says
Robert, good question. I don’t know. It could, I just don’t know. I don’t have any “Experience” with the past life stuff. I was one of those kids that “Held on” a little longer then others. As Anny said about her granddaughter, I was like that. I would see and know things that adults couldn’t. I would freak them out and make them uncomfortable. I, ever so slightly, remember that little girl. Peaceful and connected. Then the way of this world with it being run by EGO came in. Poof. She was gone. I’m starting to feel like that little girl again, with the Awe and wonder. 🙂

Laurie,
Am soooo happy you have found that “little girl” again, you know she was there with you all along don’t you? She was right beside you, holding your hand!

Robert,
I’m going to direct the drug/medicinal plant discourse to the off ramp with a final remark.
Think about Jesus working as a healer. The gospels make it clear that both disease and cure rested upon the patient. “Do you wish to be made whole?” “Do you believe that I can do this?” “Your faith has made you well.” “Go, and sin no more.” (Sin in Emerson’s terms – ignorance.) On the other hand, if you’re just looking for a joyride or a temporary vacation from your problems, well, you might open Pandora’s box. In the Amazon, any good shaman will ask you what you’re doing there, and the spirit of the plant will ask you quite a few questions as well, for it makes you decide what the experience will bring about.) God is always God, and whether you realize it or not the universe always gives you exactly what you ask for. Only experience can teach you what is best to have. The purification process includes thought, will, desire, emotion, aspiration, body, etc. Eventually you realize we’re all healers and that only by enduring this process can knowledge and wisdom (power) be entrusted to you.
We all know water is life and that our bodies are about 70% water. Well, think about dilutional hyponatremia, or water intoxication. It is defined as “a potentially fatal disturbance in brain functions that results when the normal balance of electrolytes in the body is pushed outside safe limits by over-hydration.” Or look at people obsessing over scriptures as if the Bible descended directly from heaven in 1611. As Alan Watts said, “It is far more dangerous to worship a book than to adore wooden idols.” Bottom line, even consumption of purified water can result in physical death if it’s done in excess. The word “define” means to make finite. Taking a few samples and making them representative of a whole class, slapping labels on all phenomena or packaging everything in statistics and probabilities laden with harsh adjectives is to tether yourself within a limited sphere of experience. All conditioning needs to be thrown overboard.
Pedro
Robert says
Pedro,
OK. We have more topics that we do agree on, so lets table this discussion with my final comment. I am all for throwing conditioning overboard… but also the drugs. You don’t need that crutch anymore. It will get you in the end. You can know God just by being still. Buddha said anything that you are attached to will imprison you. And remember the prophetic warning of my step kids when they were little “Don’t trust anyone over ten”. 🙂
Namaste
Paul says
You can know God just by being still.
Absolutely, Robert. In fact, I believe it is the ONLY way you can actually “know God.” All else (from ALL other sources) is just “sounding brass and tinkling cymbals.”
There are essentials, and there are non-essentials. The essentials are the essential.
Cherie Erten says
Anny and Sparks,
I lived in that rabbit hole. As a child I was different, I saw felt and heard things others didn’t. When I was very young no one paid much attention, after all I was just a child. As I got older it was a problem. I didn’t have many friends and in church, well like Pedro said, Traditional Christians are truly the most judgmental.
In my teens I strived to turn this off. I wanted to be like everyone else. I always kept it to myself but my struggle with the church and it’s teachings were a constant battle. These things were never threatening or bad in any way. Sometimes it would be a voice, sometimes a strong feeling, rarely I would see something but most of the time what affected me the most people. There some that I just couldn’t stand to be around, just walking past a person could trigger a profound response.
I eventually channeled it into Tarot card reading. There is no evil or Magick, the person being read simply ttransfers their subconscious feelings into cards, which they don’t realize. Once this is brought to the front they can then logically work on the problem, No seeing into the future or fortune telling involved you only have to know how to read the cards.
While training to be a Nurse I minored in psychology. That is one reason I have no problem with is being written in this blog. Psychology was my real love but it wasn’t to be. After my daughter was born all of this really diminished. I would look at her and she would stare straight back at me into my eyes and I would wonder what are you thinking?
In my many fields of nursing I had the good fortune to work with a renowned psychiatrist. I brought the subject up with him and made an appointment. I wondered if maybe I was a high functioning schizophrenic. After a couple of sessions, he stopped smiled and chuckled a little and said, “my dear you have a gift, most lose it by the time the are infants. Some a little older, a very few never lose it. Some can cultivate it and some can’t due to their up bringing. I promise you are not mentally ill.” Well, you know the old saying, USE IT Or LOSE IT . I studied Past Life Regression and know I have had at least 3 past life lives, this is number 4. I I was 40 when I had that experience and it has been approximately 40 yrs till I have now had this earth shaking experience, there does seem to be something about the number 40. Now embrace my gift and work hard to cultivate it. I continue with my Tarot reading and I never charge. I am a firm believer in changing my reality by Magick, I love to call it that, we are all creators of our own reality . It is nothing but the focused intent of the mind.
Sorry this was so long. Oh, I shared some of this with Robert but it must have been too far down the Rabbit hole for him. LOL. I have learned not to care what others think for only one can judge me. ……….
Love,
Cherie
Oh, my daughter has the gift now 🙂
Paul says
Cherie:
This is soooo deep and soooo profound!
It is always those who are different that change our world. Bill Gates, the Wright Brothers, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Henry Ford, Benjamin Franklin, etc., all provided us with innovations that culminated in massive changes in the way the culture operates. Their thinking was much different than most, and they certainly didn’t allow the naysayers to deter them from their paths.
Between 2001 and 2010 I had five psychic readings. All of them had very interesting things to say about me, and for the most part, all five of them were corroborative. I took that as a sign that the Infinite Intelligence was communicating with me. Although I’ve learned to take all of my requests inside, and don’t use those resources anymore, much of what they forecast for me is now beginning to manifest. It is amazing. There is definitely something to it. Alas, I have turned the page on that “day.” Today is a new one.
You are opening up your soul to us, and it is a fascinating view. It is become very clear to me how you managed to “stumble” upon this path. Utilize your greatness.
DARE YOURSELF TO BE GREAT!!! As I posted earlier, “make yourself a goal that is so big the mere THOUGHT of it will scare the hell out of you” (a quote by Bob Proctor). Then claim it everyday, and NEVER allow any negative words on the subject to ever come out of your mouth. Your mind is going to try to convince you that you’re crazy, who do you think you are, what makes you think you’re so special, ad nauseum. “Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
See, you done gone and opened up a can of worms. 😉 Now I will be looking for something GREAT from you. And now I know that YOU know that you’ve got it in you. It was always there. Sounds to me like you SEE it now.
Thank you so much for sharing this.
Laurie says
Cherie, Thank you for sharing all that. It needed to be shared. As I said in an earlier post, I had no life experience with “past lives”. Only with knowing I was “Connected” longer then most children and remembering that. Also Knowing that I had a strong intuitiveness as a child that seems to be coming back. The only way I can explain it is that you don’t force it and you don’t fight it. It just IS. I “Go with the Flow” with it. 😉
Fascinating Story and Post. I wonder where the rabbit hole will lead? 🙂
Laurie says
Cherie, it’s me again. Your post sparked a lot of memories that flooded after I read it. I could relate to so many things you said, even though I didn’t have exactly the same “experience”.
As I said in my earlier post, I remember being that little girl. I remember the exact time that fear and ego took over and the connection was different/separating (or was it the Veil fell over me)?
My Grandmother had died. I Knew this before anyone had told me and had told my Mother (it was her Mother who died). I was 4 years old. I was known as an “Ethereal” child who would make statements of fact before others had knowledge of it. I also asked profound questions that dumbfounded adults and made them extremely uncomfortable.
I wasn’t sad at my Grandmother’s passing. I knew it was a transformation and that she was in awe inspiring and exciting place. 🙂 I had no tears. I had no fear. I very much still felt connected to her.
It was at her funeral that things started to Change. Adults were scared of me. Talked about how Strange I was. That it wasn’t right that a little girl didn’t cry at her Grandmother’s funeral. It was then that I started to question myself. I was different.
Shortly after my Grandmother died, my Cat was run over by a car. My Mother didn’t know how to tell me. I came down for breakfast and we both were eating cereal and I looked at her and said “Dandy Died” (the name of the Cat). My Mother said “Yes”. I tried to comfort my Mother, (who I could tell was very emotional about it all) I looked at her and said “Don’t worry, Dandy is ok, he’s with Mamaw on an adventure”. I scared my Mom, She didn’t want me to talk of such things anymore, that I made people uncomfortable and scared them”.
I question how to act, how to think and how to feel (How to DO) instead of just BEING. I felt I could no longer just “BE”, it was my job to make people feel comfortable. Funny, that’s the point I also became an “Enabler” in my life, that lasted until just recently. Wow, never saw that connection before. 🙂 See what you did Cherie, by sharing your story? 🙂

My dear Cherie,
What a beautiful soul you are, sharing with us just makes you shine brighter. thank you love…
I also experienced much of what you have described, and still do in the area of empathy.
Sometimes strangers will just walk up and start telling me personal things and I just listen, encourage, bless and thank them, other times I am filtering negative energy, whether it be from a loved one or stranger, these times can be very difficult both physically, mentally and emotionally, but knowing these are not me (my heart) reminds me this is part of my job here.
When these sessions are completed I always feel happy, then this gives me confirmation that something good has occurred with that particular soul.
Am sure you are doing this as well through your Tarot readings, the reason I know this is you are not charging a fee : )
Have you ever used the Runes?
I have a beautiful flower Tarot card set, which I came upon and loved the images, but have not put them to use, (just primarily look at the flowers) would you like to have them? If so email Josh and ask him to share your email with me and I will get them in the mail to you, I think you will love them!
In fact, lol, I just happened upon them recently, so they must be for you or possibly your daughter?!
No judgments going on here at SOS, believe me, every soul “on board” here are highly enlightened, way past judging others.
And you are a very special addition, we are all very happy for you and all that Josh’s SOS has given you!! (Re: Paul’s reply holds this energy for you as well)

Robert says
Cherie,
I experimented with self-administered, hypnotic past life regression. There are many forms on the net. I knew the names of people I was and the time period and location, but so far I have not been able to fully verify that this person was alive. The visuals of the memories were related to events and scenes from my present life, but extrapolated to an earlier time period from information I knew about that time period. Occasionally there would be a memory of some worldwide event at the time I lived that seemed new to me, and I could verify it on the net. But it also could have been some very obscure fact that I had learned and hidden from my present normal conscious state. It scared me a little and I stopped doing it. One thing for certain, the conflicts that the people in my past lives faced were related to conflicts I was facing in my present life, or had faced, or in one case, as it appears to me, would be facing. I kept a journal, so at some time someone who is experienced in interpreting these things could help me understand them better. I am certain that having past life regression administered by an experienced professional would be a better idea, if you have the money or the time. This is one method of getting in touch with the subconscious. Its entertaining and a little freaky. Haven’t ventured down that rabbit hole since the last time I came out.
Sparks says
Cherie & Robert,
While I have not actually participated with past-life regression I can see so much more in both of your posts from a deep knowing.
Cherie, Do you see what Robert is confirming during his past life regression sessions?
Robert,
you have revealed more here than you realize!
so you are here right now with us and your family NOW (this age), doing your job/work, enjoying your hobbies, taking Snoopy ? (we have a Snoopy in our family, he is my niece’s dog) for walks, interacting with all of life!
Fortunately, we live in a relatively peaceful nation and I believe our war going on here is the unlocking of the subconscious, this all in order to create a greater Love/Peace “as above, so below”
What you are doing here, whether in PLR or not is helping your long gone ancestor’s, you came to help them and us and all you interact with…your ancestors are in you & with you and they need your help to evolve, say, into all the LAYERS Thomas spoke about! WOW
Once we realize and understand this in our hearts, then we see the greater job or road less traveled, is our spiritual work. Let me take a step back again with the article concerning what we speak, think and feel…All Energy and energy as we know never dies…Pedro’s post (at Thomas’s comments) points out the magnificence of the human vessel, we are full out, filled with an Energy that is nuclear!
And the beautiful thing is right here on Josh’s site we are all have this facet of our subconscious engaged!
Combining Paul’s article and Thomas’s very timely article right behind it, we can see 2 of the most important reasons of what we are all about in relation to “why am I here?”
LOVE & HELPING OTHERS (Paul’s article gave us LOVE/GOD & Thomas’s article gave us HELP/LIGHT (everyone to LOVE/LIGHT)
On Impermanence:
If we lived forever, if the dews of Adashino never vanished, if the crematory smoke on Toribeyama never faded, men would hardly see the pity of things. The beauty of life is in its impermanence.
Man lives the longest of all living things…and even one year lived peacefully seems very long. Yet for such as love the world, a thousand years would fade like a dream of one night.
Kenko Yoshida (1330-1332)
Do not take all this seriously but also do not dismiss this as nothing, it has great value and meaning.
You may not know ALL your ancestors, in fact, if you did a genealogy you may get a few surprises there, but for me knowing I am helping them and others, even though it may seem microscopic brings me great comfort.
WE are ALL connected, and you and everyone here have more power than we can possibly understand. It is a beautiful and humbling vastness.
REMEMBER?
With Love & Light,
Sparks
Robert says
Sparks,
Wew. That made a lot of sense, not just the logic. Especially
“What you are doing here, whether in PLR or not is helping your long gone ancestor’s, you came to help them and us and all you interact with…your ancestors are in you & with you and they need your help to evolve, say, into all the LAYERS Thomas spoke about! WOW
Once we realize and understand this in our hearts, then we see the greater job or road less traveled.”
If what you say is true, then all the souls I have known, even my tormentors, dead or alive, need my help to evolve. This puts forgiveness in a whole nother light. The flower blooms above its thorns. This is definitely chicken soup for any soul with post-traumatic stress. I felt a heaviness drop off me when this sunk in.
Sparks says
Robert,
thank you, am glad to know my words have helped you!
No one knows more than myself I definitely have a “quirky” view at times.
This all just feels like”right thinking/being” to me, it has stayed long and been confirmed many times over, which then gives me the white light it is worthy to share…

Hi Cherie and Laurie,
Thank you for everything you shared. I can imagine how difficult it must have been for you when nobody understood and was scared of you! I also was highly sensitive already as a child but that was not so much in seeing or hearing as in knowing. I never talked about that though, not because I was afraid but simply because I thought that everybody else knew as well. For instance, I knew for a fact that God = Love. Everything that was not in accordance with that knowledge I simply blocked out. I did not see it and I did not hear it. Only later in my teenage years I found out what sort of ideas other people had about God and I just could not understand it. I do remember that I was surprised as a child about all the grief at funerals but somehow I did understand the feeling of missing the person so I never said anything about it. And during my later years I always was surprised again when people had discovered some new truth about life that I had always known already. Only then I started to become aware that I had always been different and why I always was considered to be an outsider.
I did share already that I saw wisdom and recognition in the eyes of my second granddaughter, just after she was born. I had not experienced that with my own children as somehow I did not seem to have been aware of that at that time already. However, my youngest two children both are very sensitive too and did see ‘dead people’ and animals and my son saw also angels. From the stories you both told I now recognize the gift my husband and I have been able to give these children in that they could always talk about it with us and we always took them seriously. So whatever else they had to endure during their youth by being so sensitive, at least it was not being misunderstood by their parents.
Thanks for all you shared with us.
Love,
Anny

I have more than 30 decks. My I have collected in my travels and don’t use. My favorite are Infinite Visions by Gloria a Jean, Tarot of Dreams by Ciro Marche this this both have beautiful art work. My daughter got Legacy of the Divine by Ciro for me and is holding it. I don’t know where he comes up with this art work from but it is not in this realm. Then my tried and true Rider Waite the Radiant version by Arthur Edward Waite of the a Golden Dawn Hermetic Order.
I never just pick up a deck of decks they are always wrapped in silk, I strictly go by feel after talking with the person who wants the reading.
Hugs,

Cherie, this sounds fascinating to me. How long have you been doing it? I have an avid interest in uncovering/developing my clairvoyant/clairaudient/clairsentient skills.
