I don’t think God has ever been in a WWF ring, but there is a recorded event in the Bible which could be the ancient equivalent, at least if it were interpreted literally. Did Jacob, Abraham’s grandson, really wrestle God like the scripture seems to say he did? If so, it would be one of the stranger stories of the Bible. But we can rest assured the story isn’t about a man wrestling the Almighty. So what’s the story really about, and how can it help us in our spiritual journey?
As it turns out, this story is quite profound! It was meant to teach us about God, and more importantly, it teaches us about a spiritual journey “within”. It is the same “within” that Jesus speaks of when he states that the Kingdom of God is within you.
Let’s dive into the wrestling match of Jacob and God in Genesis to understand what I mean. Jacob’s wrestling match with God takes place near the end of Genesis chapter 32. Jacob is in the process of returning to the land God promised Abraham. At one point in the journey, Jacob divides up his family and animals into different companies and sends them ahead while he stays back on one side of a creek. He is completely alone. According to the Biblical story, something strange happens that night; a mysterious man wrestles with him until daybreak. But who is this mystery man and where did he come from? The story gets even stranger. This mystery man could not beat Jacob at the wrestling match, but he is able to dislocate Jacob’s thigh. This same man then tries to leave once morning comes, but Jacob doesn’t let him, at least not until he gets a blessing from the man. When all is said and done, the man tells Jacob that “…Thy name shall no more be called Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and has prevailed.” (Gen 32:28).
Here we get our first hint that the mystery man is God himself. The fact that the Biblical author means the mystery man to be God is revealed two verses later:
“And Jacob called the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.” (Gen 32:30).
A couple of things to note here: first we see that the mystery man Jacob wrestled with is God himself. Second we see that Jacob prevailed in the struggle with God. If we think about all of this literally, it makes no sense. So, as always, I ask the question: what is the real spirit of the scripture in this story?
I want you to notice that Jacob said he saw God “face to face.” This is where things get really interesting. While Jacob did not see a literal face, he did see God, or at least the Biblical writer’s concept of God. It just wasn’t with the physical eyes. There’s a special word in verse 30 that tips us off to what this whole experience was really about, and although it’s not common knowledge, ancient world stories were full of this kind of experience. It all has to do with the word “Peniel.” Verse thirty already told us that Peniel was the name Jacob gave the place where the wrestling match with God happened. But that’s not what’s important. What is important is that “Peniel” is meant to be a real place inside you! Now pay attention, because this is how the story of Jacob’s wrestling match affects you.
There is a special gland that sits at the center of the brain called the Pineal gland. In ancient cultures it was known as the “third eye.” It is known as an eye because the Pineal gland in your brain has a special relationship to light. Just like the retina of your physical eyes, the Pineal gland also contains light-sensitive cells. In fact, they are similar to some of the cells that make up the retina.
I now want you to dwell on a very important quote by Jesus given in Matthew so that you understand how serious this is:
“…The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.” (Matthew 6:22).
Jesus is not talking about the two eyes that you see the physical world with. Rather, he is talking about your Pineal gland, or what ancient cultures called the “third eye!” Jesus refers to this as a single eye because the pineal gland would not have a left and right hemisphere like your brain.
So what does Jesus’ statement and Jacob’s experience mean to you?
A pineal gland that is “full of light” is representative of an extraordinary spiritual experience, where we transcend consciousness on the physical plane and merge with God on the spiritual plane. The pineal gland has more to do with the seat of the soul and consciousness than the actual brain, and thus, this type of experience with the pineal gland could expand your consciousness. At least this is what the spiritual men of many ancient cultures believed, and since even modern medical science still sees the pineal gland as an enigma, I wouldn’t be so quick to pass this off as ancient hogwash. We do know that the pineal gland regulates and affects sleeping and waking patterns through its interpretation of light.
With that being said, it would now be a good time to remind you of the fact that the Bible states “God is light.” So could it be that the Biblical authors are trying to explain a profound mystery about God and our consciousness through spiritual language and symbols? Of course!
Returning to the story of Jacob’s wrestling match, it is important for us to understand what is meant when the Genesis author states that Jacob saw God “face to face.” Remember, this statement is made in conjunction with naming the wrestling match location “Peniel” (don’t let the different spelling fool you). We can now say that the light of the pineal gland is associated with God’s face! In other words, it is symbolic of experiencing the light of God beyond the physical plane of the five senses. And somehow the physical pineal gland is a doorway of sorts to a higher reality. Let me state that again for anyone who might be confused. Your pineal gland could be a doorway to a higher state of consciousness. This does not mean that the physical you goes anywhere, but rather, the higher you is realized by a spiritual experience where your pineal gland is awakened.
Now notice that the scripture story states that Jacob was “alone” when this encounter with God happened. This signifies the necessity of going to our prayer closet to get in touch with our inner selves through prayer and meditation. Meditation is one preferred method of having this type of Pineal, or Peniel, experience. Meditation is the key. Meditation has a profound effect on consciousness, and I believe it is one method that can energetically awaken the pineal gland, or your third eye.
For anyone who is still not sure how real this experience can be, I suggest you do some research into what the ancients believed about the “third eye.” I would also remind you of the fact that Jesus clearly stated that the kingdom does not come by observation (seeing of the physical eyes), but that the Kingdom of God has to be realized “within” us.
Please don’t think this experience is going to be quick. If you read Jacob’s life story, you’ll soon discover that life was tough on him, and he traveled a long hard road. But in the end Jacob finally had this Peniel experience that made him “Israel” (remember the name change) instead of Jacob. Jacob was a physical man. Israel was a spiritual man. This is also why Paul tells us that an Israelite has nothing to do with a blood line, but it is a spiritual definition. A spiritual Israelite is one who has had the Peniel experience. Think about Paul’s experience on the road to Dasmascus. Didn’t he have some kind of spiritual revelation of Christ through the presence of a “bright light!?”
I believe the Peniel experience is a type of born again experience. It is also a resurrection experience. If you wish to have this experience too, I recommend that you get to your prayer closet and start a meditation program!

just thought you would be interested to know that the human body functions on a circadian system of homeostasis which is mainly regulated by the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) in the hypothamus.
The SCN is the timekeeper of the circadian system and without going into depth about the different receptors in the pineal gland, it has been proven that the SCN regulates the amount of melatonin that the pineal gland produces.
Interestingly it is not light that stimulates production of melatonin. It is darkness. It makes sense that we eventually become tired toward the end of the day as our melatonin becomes depleted.
It has also been shown that when you put people in a lighted room at night, they don’t sleep as well.
I’ll be interested to hear your explanation of the pineal gland being our “third eye” and the reason Jesus referred to the pineal gland as the “eye” when we know that the pineal gland produces melatonin in response to darkness.

Thank you for sharing your medical knowledge on this fascinating subject. It is greatly appreciated. You are right that darkness stimulates the produciton of melatonin. However, light is necessary in the process. The pineal gland as a whole works off the cycle of night and day. Both light and darkness are important for our spiritual and physical health since both help the pineal gland to correctly regulate many aspects of our physical being. While melatonin is a very important hormone, the pineal gland is responsible for so much more. Too much darkness causes too much melatonin which causes depression and other such maladies. Winter blues anyone? So as you can see, light is the key to a healthy cycle as well.
The pineal gland was understood by Christ to be a doorway between physical and spiritual existence, which is really two sides of the same coin. The pineal gland is a regulator of well-balanced existence, making you whole, both spiritually and physically. “If you eye be single, then your whole body will be full of light.” The ancients understood that the spirit world was not just something to attain on the “other side,” but rather a condition of your present life within you, which is really the point of this article. Jacob met God “face to face” in his physical existence. We are meant to do the same!

I always thought it was light too. I also learned that tribes would live in caves and the Pineal gland would be a seed in darkness everyday focusing on a thought. They thought it would grow and flourish there first. I read a book saying, to be in bed by 11:30pm. In the hour of 1:00am, melatonin would join with DMT and the hallucinogen from the Pineal Gland stops. The latest of 4:00. I read, this is when monks would get up to do their discipline for it was still floating in the brain. Not before you want full 3 hrs focusing on images and powerful words starting with, I am____ The neurotransmitter is for dreaming and for the body repairing itself. If a leg has slight damage from a bike accident, the brain is aware of the body’s damage so, it flashes images of you running in place not going anywhere. Dreaming is not important at the moment, it has to focus on flashing images, twitching muscles etc. I read your pst about needing both light and dark. I got that.

Jacob’s thighbone being dislocated represents Jacob not relying on his own strength anymore. The thigh is symbolic of the ego and lower man. Jacob may have walked with a limp, but he still prevailed and became Israel, a true spiritual man operating from his higher nature. Jacob’s ladder is symbolic of the ascension process. Your questions make me want to do another blog post further explaining these concepts. Will get to it when I can.

I think that the “wrestling match” was with the thoughts of his lower mind, not with God. He stood “by a creek” which is water that is shallow and running rapidly. Water is thought, and shallow is left brain thoughts. He stays back “alone” which indicates meditation.

I have had so many peniel lifting up experiences I have lost count .As Paul said I have seen and heard things that man was probably not meant to see while in the body. Ive been studying all types of material concerning the third eye,levels of conciousness, the Bible and whatever info i can come across. Somewhere in the bible i read where it says foolish is the man the takes the words in this book and follows it by the letter ..meaning that the biblein almost every story has some type of other meaning in regards to that state of consciousness where i believe God wants us to be. Which is the holy spirit or the kindom of God…it all plays in to the law of attraction and what not…if you have any other sources to study i would like to know ..and im wondering is this penial place a place where good and evil can be manifested? Is it more bad than good ? We all have heard of the illumanti or the eye of horus …being someone who grew up in the gospel its hard to go to other christains and dicuss this. But i cant deny the connection to it all what do you think?

Thanks for your comments. The pineal gland is not something bad. It’s a gateway into the spiritual. What can be bad is trying to force kundalini and the opening of the chakra related to the pineal gland. Conscious effort over time is the best way to develop spiritually, and this is not a road that we must force. It is a road that we come to live. Meditation and living in the NOW are some of the best ways to live it. There are plenty of good articles on this blog and over the internet that teach these lifestyles. Ultimately you have to choose the path that feels most comfortable to you, but I would certainly recommend the Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle and maybe even a simple guide to meditation if you aren’t familiar with it.

This happened twice while the audio was playing, i think but i definitely remember seeing a light and blue swirls/images, also the light opend up as a door would and bring light with it. I am so happy i’ve been with god, do you think we could see the Kingdom of Heaven this way?

This was an interesting read I must say…. I am a FIRM believer in Christ and I started having those swirly vibrations centered in the back of my head about 10 years ago and would hear audible voices and having all types of prophetic visions and out of body experiences while having that experience. I would have them without the swirly vibrations on the back of my head too though but it was just weird when that sensation would come over me. For years, I simply summed it up to God drilling some sense in my head. Recently, I started to do a study on the brain and sure enough it linked with the Peniel Gland. Very peculiar. I even tested the spirit with these odd experiences and would come against it in the name of Jesus but it still continued. During one experience of MANY, I LITERALLY had a full fledged conversation with an Angel as I think it was, word for word. I did not see it in that particular experience BUT it was definitely in the room and SPEAKING audibly. During those swirly vibrating drilling tickling feeling on the back of my head it is really deep and unlike just seeing a regular dream or vision or hearing from God inwardly. It is SOMETHING totally different and I personally feel the heat all around me. I have ALWAYS wondered about it as I do NOT fool around with no evil mess. Over the years, I have learned NOW to just relax when it starts to happen. It happens randomly and frequently at times. I don’t induce NOTHING like those folks that are into foolishness. I can even feel it when it is about to happen at times. I am most certainly open minded as I know that there is MUCH that we do not know concerning the mysteries of God and all the deeper revelations that are written in the inspired Word of God. I know the scripture states in Jeremiah —> Call unto me and I will show you great and might things in which you do not know. Good read. Has anyone else here experienced these types of things? My experience was completely different because I started seeing death and evil spirits when asleep at the age of 19. At one time, I dreamt that a study mate of mine would die and this dream came to me the last week of august, 2012. To my shock, I received news on the last week of October that same year that my friend had just died. From then on, dreams started flowing every last week of every month. In most of those dreams, I used to see death and evil spirits. At that time, I was not born again. I resorted to psychological books to help me understand what was going on. Maybe they had answers as to why I was dreaming horrific things. I remember at one time, I asked the evil spirit that was tormenting me to show its face. I wanted to be sure that no science was involved. To my surprise, it responded. When I slept that night, it appeared. From then on, I knew I was in trouble. After a month, I went for prayers in a local church around my campus. When I was being prayed for, I felt tickling sensations at the back of my head down to my lower back even though I had felt them before so many times at day times. I fasted for three days after that day of prayer and on the fourth night, those demonic dreams stopped completely. But I was still not born again. I did not feel bad because I knew I was working-in -progress and God was not finished with me. Soon enough, I started seeing goodness and light in my dreams. I remember one night I asked God to help me know If He was still interested in me. Even though deep down I knew I was a working in progress, I wasn’t sure if He had confirmed my perception. That night, I dreamt I was in white clothes but I could see people viewing my body. When they tried to put me in a casket, the coffin became under-sized. When they tried to place the coffin in a hearse, the car refused to drive of.f The cross that was to be placed on my graveyard broke into two halves. My spirit was watching how those people were working hard to bury my body. However, all their efforts were futile. Then I work up. Right there and then, I knew God was calling upon me because I was not spiritually dead and it was not too late. My quest for truth led me to wanting to change and be born again. I focused my energy to finding the truth about God and knowing his purpose for me. And from reading the information above, I now know am enlightened on how I can have a spiritual oneness with my creator. I thank God for this information because I will be able to connect with God in more ways than just dreams. In dreams He has shown me a lot but now I am enlightened to know other channels to experience Him. Praise Jesus Christ.

The writer brushed past an important piece of the story-completely over looking the why Jacob divided up and sends family and animals ahead. The article writer says,
“At one point in the journey, Jacob divides up his family and animals into different companies and sends them ahead while he stays back on one side of a creek.”
This is an important part of the story continued and explained in Genesis. Jacob sent gifts ahead to Esau, his brother, whom Jacob stole the birthright blessing when they were children, which is important as to why Jacob is wrestling with God in the first place. (Technically Esau would have received the blessing because he was the first born) so the story gets deeper than the writers version.
My question to the writer would be what am I to meditate on with my pineal gland?
It seems that the author introduces the pineal gland as the way to God, but doesn’t that begin to glorify our limited physical faculties and diminish the purpose of Jesus and the cross? We are too deep in brokenness and sin to connect with God by any means, let’s face it we can’t even do righteous to the people who we do see, feel, and touch. We suck in relationships with humans, and we fail at reaching many if our goals that provide basic necessities we need like food, shelter, etc., so how are we some how able to meditate with a clean pineal gland and reach the Almighty of good? God would have to come to us, because we are unworthy per reality, if we can’t hold a candle to people with physical nature, how on earth, are we going to dial God? Its illogical. Jacob was wrestling with God the way you and I wrestle with Him. Its the fight between our will vs. His will. We won’t get blessed until we yield to Him. In Jacobs time they had a special revelation and covenant with God that they needed to be apart of and now we have the New Testament which is the new covenant (the final piece we will have until He returns) through Jesus.
The most important thing also not to miss then is that no matter how much meditation we focus on, the only way is Jesus. Faith that He is Son of God, the Word of God manifested in the flesh. To take that deeper He is also part of the Holy Trinity we know about, the three natures of God. He died on the cross for our sins and brokenness and was risen on the third day and we are to give our life to Him who paid for it on the cross. Christinity is deep but the core of it is simple and out of this world at the same time! While we were in sin and enemies to God, God shows us His beyond human comprehension love to us by sending His only Son to die on a cross in place of His enemy (us). I think we can easily get enticed to go right or left but the theme of the Gospel is not complex mysterious intelligence but mind bending love served on a cross. Paul says “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his cunning, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” We just don’t want to mediate for meditation sake, that can be dangerous. Christianity is about the ONE way to God! Jesus didn’t say no one comes to the father but through your pineal gland, or pineal gland + Me. Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
I just know its easy for the flesh to get caught up in mystery and mystical but the Way is crystal clear and narrow.

Good questions. I use to have the same ones. I think the best way to explain this is to remember that the kingdom of God is “within” us. Therefore Jesus Christ as “the way” represents going within ourselves to discover that kingdom which the Gospel writers refer to as God. Remember also that Jesus says the kingdom does not come with observation. In other words, it’s not something we can discover “outside” ourselves through doctrine, dogma, and even belief. All belief is tainted with the rational mind, which can never reach God. Jesus Christ represents that which is already within us and that which we have to discover through crucifying our own ego on Golgotha (the place of the skull, mind) as Jesus did.

I know Golgotha is also prophecy of how Christ will be crucified in the minds of many people in the last days who will take the mark of the beast. (mt 24:10) But I know from studying that many things in scripture has more than one meaning…. Judges 4=killing our ego at Golgotha = the mind!
Jael’s takes a nail to the temple of Sisera the name Sisera means servant of Ra. Which I see the story being about us killing off the false Christ in our life. Isaiah 30:1-3 God warns his people not to trust in Egypt. Ra is a sun god a false Christ. The gods of Egypt were born on dec 25 raised from the dead. God also warns that they would preach another Jesus (2cor11:1-4). Most people have received another Jesus!

Great article, very rare for me to come across another believer who practices meditation the way you describe. I believe you are correct in that Jacob was changed to a spiritual man through this ordeal. The wrestling represents God coming into our lives, and the thigh is Gods everlasting change in our life. The pineal use however can be for good or evil, as others may know. Satan is also a spiritual being and deals with people in like manner. Hence your secret society members and world leaders, who are all part of secret cults. Be careful going down the rabbit hole, if you do make sure you go with God.

This is my first time coming across anything about pineal gland since a spiritual experience 8 months ago that has profoundly changed me from the inside. It’s a very sacred, precious and intimate moment for me so I hope others will be respectful with open minds as well as love.
I was sleeping when I began to feel something tapping me on my forehead between my eyes. It felt like the placement of where my third eye resonates. As I opened my eyes, this tapping continued. I saw nothing with my physical eyes above or on the side of me. I saw nothing but the tapping continued. I remembered feeling immense peace and knew instinctively it was Jesus. How I knew this? I don’t know as I was never participated in religion nor ever read a bible before this experience. After this experience however it has changed me, and my life. I began that very day picking up the bible and studying it as well as anything I could get my hands on about Jesus including the lost gospels at Nag Hammadi Library. At first, these gospels frightened me because even though I was spiritual I have a dad who has been greatly influential in my spiritual growth since I was in my teens. He didn’t believe Jesus was God only a prophet, and yes he believes in the Old Testament so I struggled greatly with the lost gospels. I would study them and than run from them in horror and than Jesus would keep bringing me back as now I know, He was helping me overcome things inside myself so that I could see and hear the truth. He needed to turn away from fear and the more I faced it in these past 8 months, the more error and illusion I would begin to see in my daily life as well as in others. Then finally I began dreaming dreams that confirmed my time had arrived and so I went back to the lost gospels for probably the fifth time. This time was different. I felt no fear, only peace which was so strange because once again I overcome. Again!
A few days after the tapping, 8 months ago, I saw a vision of a door glowing, radiating along the door. I searched everywhere for truth in this vision however every scripture at that time (before lost gospels) bible always spoke about an OPEN DOOR. My door was not open. It was just a door that had glowing light coming from behind it. For 8 months, I had out this “door” into the back of my mind because my spirit knew it was important and what I had found wasn’t matching my spirit in truth so I just waited patiently for the unveiling. just this week, it came, the truth. I had a dream about a scripture. Although, I couldn’t read the words w my eyes. My spirit interpreted. What my spirit picked up was that god of Israel, Old Testament is demuirge god and one of the archons we must pass through to get to Heaven. I woke with affirmation that also aligned perfectly with what I had been studying that week about god of Israel being a false god. Next, mind blowing, difficult explain unveilings poured into my mind. As I moved along through them, I grew in awareness. Anyhow, my experiences brought me to your page, this page today where I am reading my own experience in spirit and felt in physical. I can find nothing about anyone having an experience like I had that doesn’t involve mediation or self tapping forehead. Has anyone heard of spirit doing the tapping? If not, why would Jesus select me? What is so special about me?
Jesus has saved me from a rare illness and many others to follow. He changed me and healed me. I have been 8years in remission with a rare illness that I should have died 9years ago from. Anyhow, my pops always told me that I was saved for a reason but however lovely that sounds, it’s difficult to comprehend. I often think about the events, conflicts, works of service during the time of the tapping which I knew in that moment was REBIRTH WHILE IN THE FLESH as I changed in a blink of an eye. Things I struggled with a day prior with, no longer phased me. My entire family has taken notice even creating a believer out of my kids and fiancé to Jesus. Although, they have been extremely irritated with me for these 8 months as I can’t do anything but think, feel, study, analyze – breathe Jesus.
Anyhow, I feel so alone on this world now, a world I hate to be in. This is what the journey has done to my spirit. I never knew this would happened but I did tell Jesus I would give up everything for Him. And this came AFTER the tapping so that can’t be the reason He tapped me.
Anyhow, I know Jesus deeply, I can’t explain it. I just know Him, His Heart and Character as though it were mine. I can spot Jesus in anyone as I can also spot the antichrist in anyone. I can see deception a mile away now, coming and going. I have definitely progressed into some conscious awakening and despite the great struggle of loneliness the lost gospels talk about, I wouldn’t give Him up for anything nor anyone. He is just so worth it. I just wish I knew of someone, somewhere who has experienced what I have experienced or at least knew what it’s all about. The crazy wild part about this adventure is I am learning few know it. It’s not scary but it is again, lonely. And as I continue onward on this path, the farther away I become with others. They don’t necessarily know but I do. I feel a wall growing between me and the world. The larger this wall grows, the more I feel disconnected and just struggle to understand how to fit into the world when I hate it yet I love people, yet I hate the ignorance and their choosing darkness over the light. I fill more with anger as it feels like I’m walking around with the most magnificent secret and NO ONE WILL HEAR ME! What is soooo strange about this feeling is that I felt it as a kid. Never knew why? Guess I was for seeing my future? Another thing I always knew when I was a kid is that this was my last life. I knew at 16years old, I am never coming back, I’m done. I always thought this “matter of fact” mental state is what drew me into living life from a spiritual state, however, I now consider I already knew at different level of an unveiling, my existence in the cosmos? I don’t know and I also don’t know I am sharing all this on this page?! I just know I wish others could understand what it’s like to really know Jesus. TO KNOW HIM. FEW, if any, really do. And it breaks my heart for them and for Jesus, and the mission, the purpose He came for, to help each of us BE THE LIGHT IN THE WORLD!!!

I can so relate to you. My life experience has been very parallel to yours. Everyone has to beat out their own path to God, yes it is lonely. “Strait (difficult) is the way that leads to life, and few there be that find it.” I too feel sorry for the “many” that take the path of least resistance, the “broad” way that leads to death and destruction. We can only do what we can do to influence them and be that light in the dark for them to see, because they have no light themselves. God is light. Got God, got light. By the same token, I am excited what God is doing in my life! And thinking I just stumbled on this site, I now know I am being led by the Spirit. I, like you, just recently become aware of the pineal gland. Actually it was just yesterday I did this search. It started when I was reading about Jacob in the Bible. I was intrigued why he would name the place Peniel. When I googled the meaning, its like a whole new dimension has opened up to me, A very large place that I am still trying to take all in. I feel like God just dumped a truckload of revelation on my plate and this may take a while to digest. There is only one thing about this otherwise fantastic article that I disagree with, by Josh: He believes Jacob’s experience was spiritual. I believe it was both spiritual and natural. Reason being; New Testament 1 Corinthians 15:46 says; “Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.” Everything in the O.T. happened in the natural. N.T. is spiritual. Be encouraged! Keep the Faith and your chin up. It will soon be all over and we will inherit eternal life. 1 Cor. 2:9 “But as it is written, eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has entered into the heart of man, the things that God has prepared for them that love Him.” Reference from Isaiah 64:4. I’m sorry, I want to say little more…. Another reason I believe Jacob’s wrestle was actual physical was the fact that he walked with a limp the rest of his life. Also, around May of 2014 I ended up getting an MRI because of a headache which I never have! I believe that was the beginning of the Lord leading me to reveal what He is doing now. The result showed some calcification on my pineal gland. The Dr. told me it is very common, most people have it. It is nothing to worry about. I did some searching and find many are searching for an antidote. Medical prof. will say there is no known cause or cure. I am finding there is. There is a great article I ran across: A video on YouTube, “(SHOCKING NEWS) The Pineal Gland – The Greatest Cover Up In History. Burhaan Pattel. Also, DMT & The Mysteries of the pineal gland, also on youtube. I do not advocate DMT, and would never take it myself, there was a supplement mentioned on the first video that I will try, the natural way. God made all the plants and herbs and leaves of trees for our health. Also, by Jesus stripes we were healed. God is our healer. We walk by faith. Of course I had to weed through the eastern religious overtones in them and glean out the nuggets of truth, but it was helpful.

I did meditation of a sort that was… very basic. All I had to do was close my eyes and look upwards at the area where the third eye is on the forehead, focus on that area, and visualize in my mind an eye in that area opening (constantly). The thing is I had only tried doing this one other time, yet on my second attempt I nearly succeeded to my amazement. My body began to vibrate like it never had before, my legs, hands, head, chest, you name it were vibrating. My heart was pounding like crazy despite the fact that I was calm, and honestly I never recalled my heart pounding like that before. I then began to hear a humming, and it did sound like it was coming from the area where the pineal gland was located at. This humming was like nothing I’ve ever heard in my body. Not even close to what I experienced when my ears are ringing or anything of that sort. It made me think of a machine turning on, and it felt like it was struggling to turn on as it varied in strength for the 7 or more seconds it was humming. While it was humming my body was at the peak of vibration, and at this point fear began to set in because this was something foreign to me and intense as ever. Eventually my body began to calm down very slowly and my body eventually ceased to vibrate and my heart beat returned to normal. The fear that set in may have been what caused me to lose focus and cause this experience to halt all together. But then again this was my first experience and so maybe that’s a good thing. Taking it slow is probably the best thing to do, and ensuring your body can handle the intensity of the experience is also a GOOD thing as far as I could tell. By the way, opening your third eye can be accomplished by inhaling DMT which is a chemical that your body produces naturally, but with high doses can forcefully activate it. However, I would recommend meditation.

Was wondering how you relate Jesus’s comment: “You are the light of the world. Don’t hide your light under a bushel” to the pineal gland. I was under the impresion that Jesus was talking about our lives-how they can impact other people, either not at all or negatively(under a bushel so our lights don’t shine) or positively( our lights(lives) are shining brightly affecting others with whom we come in contact. It seems to me that this positive contact would involve sharing the experience you have had with God or to go a step further giving a cup of cold water to a thirsty man, or stopping to help someone(the good Samaritan) which would invlve the use of our cerebral cortex, rather than the unconscious, involuntary action of the pineal gland.

How are we able to have a healthy body w/solar plexus,organs, and nerve systems when food and water contains chemicals in calcifying the Endocrine system. No matter how careful one can be, something still get’s past me of eating too much soy, showed a tumor later. I learned that by preserving the sacred oil is to be celibate and have been 2, years, I don’t care anyway my love is levitating or something happening spiritual. Desiring change in a higher frequency. I have no plan of slipping back. I can’t, I know too much, I see the game and drama of it all. My sacrifices are not my regrets.The only thing I know is depression. I have been to retreats, of doing disciplines and techniques C+E=Reality. Flashing a desired image in frontal lobe along with breathing creating desires. The raising of the energy is what I wanted to do all my life.

Very insightful article and a nice bridge between the various schools of thought in articles about the pineal gland that I have read in recent years, some scientific and most hippy-dippy groovy new-agey wisdom-of-the-ancients kinds of articles.
I’ve read also about yoga and done the child’s pose, which looks and feels like some of the prayer poses and perhaps that pose helps to increase blood flow to the pineal gland and/or to stimulate the production of the melantonin and possibly DHT ?
I also wanted to share this on Pinterest, but there’s no “pinnable content” so maybe some generic photo or a pineal gland here would work?

Love debating with you except you’re a lot smarter than I am so I’m at a disadvantage.
But here goes: When Jesus referred to the eye being single, He wasn’t referring to the pineal gland. His disciples were ordinary men, not scholars and certainly not familiar with anatomy such as the pineal gland. If you went up to 30 people on the street today, I’ll venture not one knows or has even heard of the pineal gland.
No, Jesus was referring the attitude of the heart. He futher stated you “can’t serve God & mammon”- the same idea when He referred to taking up the cross and following Him, and when he told the rich man to sell all that he had. Later letters by Paul also emphasized singleness of heart when in in Philippians he says “To me to live is Christ, & in Colossians: Christ in you, the hope of glory & again brought out strongly in the letters of John. In the Old Testament we can see this singleness of heart with David who was a “man after God’s own heart”
Singleness of mind & heart is what that phrase is speaking. You have it in the first commandment- “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul & spirit” Paul was a good example of singleness of eye- he was totally sold out for Christ & doing the will of God

Wholly respect and understand what your references are. Makes total sense. As I read your learnings I felt resonation after resonation. I feel that Jesus’ references were of the heart and love as that was his message wholly but do also see that what you have found is certainly of significance and relevant.
It is said by many that Jesus was a true ‘medium’ so that would fit with his message of love and being led in life by the heart as well as the pineal gland third eye being the way to awakening to the truth. It would be both after all.

I appreciate how you illuminate the mysteries in this story. I grew up in a very conservative religious home, reading the bible very literally, and I have family – that I love dearly – that still have a very literal and narrow interpretation of scripture.
I had a spontaneous Kundalini awakening that began more than 20 years ago. I rarely speak of all the mystical experiences I’ve had in deep meditation and how this has deepened and transformed my experience of the divine.
I recently tried to have a gentle conversation with my own father about the decision I made to put aside “logos” – “the Word” (I actually taught Sunday School as a teen and attended a Bible College as a young woman) and to open up to an experience of God directly through nature, mediation, creative expression, and to follow a more mystical path.
It’s a relatively newer thing for me to revisit childhood stories with my new vision, and a more symbolic language. Very excited to stumble across your post.
I have been tuned in to the idea of the daimon/angels, struggle and inner work. I have been revisiting a myth – The Handless Maiden. (Clarissa Pinkola Estes has a version in her book “Women Who Run with the Wolves” and also I’ve looked at it in a book by Jungian analyst, Robert Johnson). Something about the old story sparked deeper thoughts about this story of Jacob, which led me to your articles.
As someone that has expanded my experience and understanding of spirit exponentially through a commitment to meditation and deep inner exploration, I was tickled to find your interpretation which in many ways paralleled the wisdom in the myth. In general, I felt very validated and soothed by your perspective and deeper understanding of scripture. Excited, actually. It inspires me to integrate and connect more of my current experience of energy and life with my childhood religious background. Also, it helps to give me a language and framework as I struggle to find words to speak to beloved friends and family that ask questions or occasionally voice concern due to fears that I meditate, or have expanded in my thinking so much, and somehow this is dangerous. For example, your answer about Christ being ” the Way” and reference to the inner kingdom of God was very helpful.
Very grateful to find your words. And then, to find reference to the Pineal Gland! I truly had not made this connection. I have had inner promptings about Jacob’s ladder. I look forward to reading more. So comforting to find someone that speaks a language I can soak in and understand.

I had what I could only described spirtual experience, ididnt know about the pineal gland existance at the time. The magazine Hello had a computer generated picture of what jesus look like taken from The Turin shoud, as I looked at the picture I imagine d how nice it would be to meet jesus and was in awe of this thought, when I heard a low humming, noise which came to a crescendo and I was caught up in it. The feeling was inside me a beautiful wonderful feeling so powerful I could never describe in words.I was frightened in a way of the experience but have always wished it would happen again.I always believed in creator god and jesus christ son of god who died for our sins and believe the pineal gland a antenna to connect our creator and jesus christ.

For example in yoga is normal to meditate with the focus on the third eye point, while in zen you focus on the navel.

Xavier, I think all kinds of meditation is beneficial, with Zen style as the best. Of course this is just my personal opinion based on the three stage development promoted by Zen style.

But what i do wish to toss into
the convo is the fact (yes, fact) that the
pineal is ‘activated’ in the absence of
the blue light spectrum.
Believe it or not.
When i say activated i mean it ‘secrets’/secretes
the secretions Jacob experienced.
The origin of the word secret is
exactly what the pineal does!
Hence why going deep into caves was the way of
the saints of old. This is of course little known info

i have experienced 4 days and nights in

Another trick of the prince/power of this world is
to burn books, destroy information that is vital

for eg darkness/black….there is actually no logical
reason why we should be scared of the dark!
Just because God is light, does NOT mean darkness
or the absence of light is in ANY way wrong/bad or otherwise.
Prolonged periods of the absence of blue light
in the wavelength 450 -495 nm allow for all the cares in the world to simply drop away.
Why?
Many reasons, all of which are duplicable in everyone!
This is not some random thing.
Bears hibernate in total darkness after which their energy is renewed.

verse in the entire scriptures for this day and age.
The pineal gland allows us to ‘see’ what the eyes cannot.
When the secrets are actively being secreted we begin seeing/knowing stuff

Hi, I was led to your site as I have seemingly started a journey of discovery which has accelerated since dec last year. I had stopped celebrating xmas from previous years so spent more time researching historical,biblical,scientific and Spiritual interests, on youtube and generally on the web. Iv barely watched tv since oct last year preferring music anyway and am changing my habits regarding what I listen to and have erased some after learning more of the music industry practises and of backdrafting. Eventually I came upon info on the pineal gland and the medical, functional side, and the relation to melatonin, melanin, so I looked up foods that help to decalcify the pineal gland. Green leafy veg, pulses, most types of berries were listed that I can remember right now, so have done what I can to alter my diet. Also found out sungazing may help and have done a few times ,I awoke today and started with a cup of tea as usual and started to pray, in my prayer I was thanking the Most High Yahuah and telling Him that I had Always wanted to Know Him and was searching for Him, asking him to enter into my Life and I will give my life over to him. I was in an abusive relationship and because of this had my son taken from me within this past year , So I prayed, at that timecrying tears that in my growth and Faith in Him that we would be reunited. When I sungazed after that prayer the suns rays shot out bright like silver around the edges growing in length slightly and a lilac light radiated and I felt a little pop behind my ear, after a second time the sun seemed white in color and the rays seemed a little more kaleidoscopic. I had my head covered from praying so was really surprised when the sun still resonated through the headscarf and throughout this time rays of colour, changing to green, orange, mostly pink and purple streamed through the window. When I closed my eyes I could see an eye shape that also changed different colours. Is all of this mean my pineal gland has opened or is it still opening…
I havent done this lightly, I did my best to take in enough info before doing as I espscially didnt want to it if it was disagreeable to having a relationship with the Most high Yahuah. Any more info or advice would be welcolmed. Peace and Blessings

I really couldn’t say. That’s not my place to judge such things. Opening the pineal gland us a very subjective experience, which honestly, I do not have any personal experience with yet.

I have looked into the info you present. The pineal gland naturally calcifies through age as well, but not to dangerous levels like injecting harmful chemicals into our body. Detoxification is a good idea, not only for the pineal gland, but all of the body. Maintaining a good diet of raw and whole foods is our best bet! Blessings.

Jesus is not talking about the two eyes that you see the physical world with. Rather, he is talking about your Pineal gland, or what ancient cultures called the “third eye!” Jesus refers to this as a single eye because the pineal gland would not have a left and right hemisphere like your brain.”
The section of Mattityahu (Matthew) you quoted is about wealth, money, and suddenly Yeshua begins to talk about eyes? A single eye (in the translation you chose) actually is better translated as “if you have a good eye” and refers to generosity, not a physical eye or gland. Yeshua is NOT talking about a pineal gland, he is referencing a well know ancient Hebrew saying about generosity. If you have a good eye and are “generous” then your whole body is full of light.
This is not about eyes. Rather this is a well known Hebraic ideom referring to the generosity of a person. A

I appreciate your comment. However, I think the mistake made here is considering any of this literal. Mammon does not literally mean money, but is a symbol of the lower-desire nature. Eyes are symbols of mental perceptions, of ideas and feelings. If thine eye be single, then the mental perception is focused, and this happens as a part of higher brain function. Well-known Hebraic Idioms are mostly viewed through the literal interpretation, or the second level of interpretation, and still fail to get to the deepest aspect of reality. Kabbalah would be the correct way to view well-known Hebraic Idioms for the deepest meanings. Blessings.

I was just reconnoitring the new set-up of the blog and discovering loads of comments I never saw.
In this case I would say: Why not leave open the possibility that both interpretations might be right? They are just on different levels and one is not necessarily more or less true than the other.
The higher the level, the deeper the insight but that does not detract from the fact that also the ground level often is true. That is to say, when the message is positive. When it is a call to war or violence it is of course another matter.

I grew up in a religious home. My father is a Minister. His father was a Minister. Spent the majority of childhood, young adult hood in church. Tried to join in a few times but it never felt right to me. This not right feeling turned into great sorrow for those spending their life looking for something they will probably never find. Blinded by their own ignorance, enslaved by their own bondage, I refused to follow their steps. Sorrow turned to depression, fueled by drugs became oppression which never left my side. I grew to hate the world into which I was born, and more so the God in which this world seemed to worship. I cursed the name of the God of my fathers, refused to take another step in this sick and twisted world, and injested enough narcotics to kill a man 4 times my size. My body started shutting down, I sat againt a wall in the garage as my limbs became to heavy to move. I could feel my heartbeat getting slower and slower along with every breath I drew. In my final moment I prayed, “Father…let my death open the eyes of those whom I have loved.” I gave up the ghost. As the light of life fled my body, a thick, heavy darkness filled the space.
I was 17 years old.

I woke up sitting in a desert against a dead tree. Instantly I started crying and yelling to God, Why couldn’t you just let me die. I was in my body but not in my flesh. I could see the heat of the sun and the sand blowing in the wind but couldn’t feel either of them. Before me was laid a perfectly paved highway. That stretched as far as I could see. I walked to the edge of the highway, contemplating if I should start walking left or right. I felt a hand take my right hand, and a peace that I had never felt. I look and a little girl in a white shining dress, was looking up smiling at me. Her smile shined brighter then the sun. With her hand in mine she steps me onto the highway and starts walking me to the right of where I awoke.
I asked her where we were. She looked at me and smiled. I asked her what her name is. She said I AM GRACE. Her voice was as the sound of running waters mixed with the melodies of shining light. I know not how else to explain that. I asked her where we were going. She said HOME. I knew when she said home I was coming back to my flesh and I began to beg her to let me stay in the desert with her. She stopped walking looked at me and smiled and said, IT IS NOT YET YOUR TIME. Instantly I was surrounded by the brilliance of her light. I woke again in my flesh outside throwing up with a kids finger down my throat. Not knowing who it was I said why did you not just let me die. I looked up and the kid was one who I tormented in my school simply because he liked my little sister. He told me he openedthe garage door and saw me lying on the floor, he said I was pale and wasn’t breathing. He said he checked my pulse and couldn’t find one. He rolled me on my back and seen an empty pill bottle, so he picked me up and carried me outside trying to make me throw up what I had consumed. I gave him a slight hug and asked him to go find me a smoke. As he left the voice of The Living God Spoke from the very core of my being. My body shook from head to toe in fear. He said “Be Still and Know That I Am.” I knew at this point God is real, yet had no idea what he means. I met my wife 3 months later, dated a year then married at 18. A little over a year she’s pregnant. We find out we’re having a girl. I told my wife at that moment I want to name her Grace. She says to me her name is Hannah. I argued and went and found a bible and Hannah in the bible. And it read Hannah Lit. Meaning – The Grace of God. I wept. She was born on my birthday. When she was seven years old she was the same little girl who led me through the desert when I was 17. What I say, I say the Truth. I found not God in the church. God Found me in the wilderness. I didn’t go to church. I didn’t read the bible. I tried to Be Still and Know That I am. Again at 30 years old God spoke. His voice is the sound of Seven Thunders mixed with Seven Waters that shakes your entire being from the very midst of your core. It’s truely Beautful and Fearful in Harmony. I AM THE LIVING WORD. After years of not reading I asked my dad for a bible. I read these scriptures and my life has changed forever.
The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. (Isaiah 35:1)
Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you. (Isaiah 35:4)

I can promise everyone that life is not what it appears to be. We get so caught up with the daily grind we forget to simply be still and know. I never wanted God, I wanted to be left alone and live life like everyone I saw. As the son of a minister, there were a lot of things that most children did that I wasn’t aloud to do. My lonely road of faith was a long and hard one. Not knowing walking through it, every step I took was showing me. One can simply be still and study the Nature of the Garden we are all placed in, it bears witness to the Mystery of Heaven and the Glory of God. My Father in Heaven is all I want now. He is all I can see now. There is none other than He. Hear oh Israel, the Lord thy God is One. I promise anyone, if you can’t see as the Apostle Paul states, JESUS CHRIST IS ALL, AND IN ALL, then you’ve missed the mark, your falling short of the Glory of the Kingdom of Heaven. He Alone is Unconditional Love, and this Love is Life. There is nothing you can do that hinders his Love for you. Your flesh would crawl on its belly through the desert just to reach up and touch the Divinity that He Placed Inside of You. My experience changed my life. I’m no one special. I am the least among you all, how greater are you then I. The only prayer my experience has taught me to pray..”Father I Thank Thee, for thou hast heard my prayer. I know thou hast always heard my prayers. If it be thy Will, take my eyes and give them to those who cannot see you. Take my ears and give them to those who cannot hear You.
